TRD Exhaust

Sweet, hopefully can this done asap, I don't know what sound they trying to mimic, but it ain't a good one.

 

I'm very happy I swapped mine. Some people like the extra noise. I didn't.

 

Would've been fine if it sounded good, it sounds extra annoying on trails when climbing on a hill.

 

Has anyone adding the Gibson exhaust or swapping it out to oem 4runner exhaust 2019 or older? I know some are trading 4runner owners.

I have the Gibson Single rear exit and I am a fan of it honestly. I've heard of the Gibsons having some rust problems but I haven't seen anything like that yet.

 

Well, put the stock muffler on today, wife is finally happy as it no longer sounds like a minivan with leaky exhaust.

 

What are your plans with the trd exhaust ?

 

I put it in the storage all the way up in the top shelves, I'm a hoarder for car parts...............

 

That magnaflow looks and sounds nice, but from what I read, no performance gains. I guess it's just for clearance basically. I feel like you could just cut the tip back on stock exhaust a little and be the same thing (without going outside and looking). Then again, you couldn't call it the Overland series...

 

Just picked up the new TRDPro for the wife, I would be interested in swapping the muffler with someone with a new stock normal sounding trd muffler. Im in Sacramento, CA. Not interested in the sound profile...at all!

I have a 2019 Trd pro stock exhaust if interested. Located in SF Bay Area.

 

For clarification need a non-TRD muffler, have that already and trying to get a regular muffler u get on a limited or most of the other versions. I mis-typed earlier.

I plan on trading my 2010 FJ Cruiser in for a 2021 4R/ORP in early March. One of the OEM Accessory options shown on the Toyota Build and Price website is this performance exhaust, which I was trying to decide if I wanted. So, thanks to the back and fourth opinions on this Thread one could judge if this is a mod you wanted, or not. In my case, it's not for me. But I can also see this as a desirable mod for others. So, thanks for starting and sharing this Thread. Shows me how valuable a Forum like this can be - even before you purchase a new 4Runner. LOL

Anyone want to trade their stock Pro exhaust for a brand new, under 50 mile stock non pro exhaust? Mooresville NC and I can do the swap.

 

Been looking for a swap for a year .. finally gave in and purchased a new one. Right now it’s $200 off shipping

 

I don’t really need to swap. I have the Borla system in mine. Noticed a performance jump, RPM climbs faster and passing power was instantly noticeable. It’s not overly loud but I don’t love it, wouldn’t mind trying the TRD system for the hell of it. If someone wants to trade for my stock system, I’m all ears.

 

Just found a Pro exhaust on Craigslist with 200 miles on it for $250!
Installing this weekend. Install looks simple enough, does anyone recommend replacing front gasket? I figured I can reuse mine since the 4Runner is fairly new.

 

Gasket will be fine.

 

Cat to muffler is spring loaded so no gasket. Muffler to tailpipe has a gasket. If it’s included should be fine.
