Have you ever seen the kid Tyler Hall with the silver Tacoma that has like a 10" lift without a drop bracket? I tell him his truck is gay all the time. He used to get mad now he just thinks I'm joking I think.

image.jpg That looks like all the trucks on the road around here. They consider them 'show trucks' Ever heard of Extreme Off-road? Ironically their trucks never actually leave the pavement but they've got 12 inch lifts. It's so stupid.

Oh I definitely know about all those places. I started the Yotamafia page in Instagram a few years ago and I'd say the majority of my follower base are "show truck" people.

Hell yeah I do then I call a non emergency police line and give them the tag number and they write them an endangerment ticket. We are supposed to fix it anyway and not let them leave until they pay it but I'd rather they just get out of my hair.

I'm in Houston and those trucks are literally everywhere. I just came here from Nashville and in Nashville they're literally all Samari's or Jeeps or rock crawlers or unibodies. Not many 'show trucks' up there.

State laws and company policy. State laws say they're not allowed to leave a shop if their car is a safety hazard. We are not supposed to let them leave but company policy states they have to be towed off. The liability forms are something our store just kinda made up just to cover our own asses because we lose money everytime we take it apart and they refuse to pay.

In San Francisco I often, very often, see people get mad over the "bag charge" law we have. Keep in mind, it's only 10 cents, and it's been around for like 3 years.

Some asshat gave me the flu or whatever the hell it is. Wish people would cover their damn mouths.

Or the people who think they're 'nickeled and dimed' because they need wheel weights and valve stems when they get new tires.
Or they've got belts showing on their worn out tires but they still want their old ones back?
Or they come in with a gaping hole in the sidewall and bitch because we can't plug it.

Seriously I hate people I have no idea why after all these years I am still working with the general public.

You'd be surprised what kind of manners people have nowadays. The other week I had some "lady" turn right towards my face and cough on me.

That guy is too funny. Tags the guy and adds in the "how many cousins you banged in that?"

You can't escape stupid. So quit pulling your hair trying to accomplish that. Even stuck in an office, in a cubicle, you're surrounded by stupid.

interesting. you're in houston, right? or did i just make that up?

i work on bikes and have had to deal with customers that want us to work on broken things. it's frustrating. we waste time arguing with the customer who threatens to tell all his friends that we "refused service". but we don't have any sort of law that helps us out. all we have is the fact that if we touch the busted crap, we're screwed when he falls and gets run over or injures another rider.

So both speakers in my front doors do nothing but rattle now, that's probably good.

I don't sweat it, I am openly bitchy to rude people I still get paid whether they get their car fixed it not and I tell them that. I work in a woman ran shop and we take shit from no one.

Yes I'm in Houston. If it were me, I'd whip up a liability release form, make it look legit and make them sign it before you return their keys. If they refuse, tell them they have no choice but to pay or you'll tow it. If they take the car/bike you can legally report it stolen even if it's their bike.
