I'm exhausted searching for this, and hoping someone has a better alternative...

I want to put black door handles on my 2021 blue 4runner, like the venture. I can piece them out from the dealership, but it's very expensive...Has anyone done this, or know of a cheaper alternative? I think it's attitude black or something, but I definately dont need gloss. The simple plastic like the other toyotas would be fine.

I just dont want the stick on covers....

I wrapped mine with SW 900 by Avery. It's not the best looking, but from 5 feet is looks great. To do it right, look up CK Wraps and watch, practice, and be prepared to remove the inner door trim to get to the smart key wiring on the front, and the rear trim to access the removal bolt. I didn't do mine the best way, so I didn't remove the handles, but when I have enough experience to feel confident doing it really well, I will.

I’ve seen black plastic snap on covers for the door handles. Prob not what you’re looking for, but they’re out there for purchase. I’ve seen them on some 4runners on dealer lots. (Often along with snap on SR5 plastic wheel covers)

Oh, follow up on the wrapping, work perfectly with smart key, and the wrap lays into the channel. It's super thin and it looks amazing if you do it well. The reason mine doesn't is that I suck at complex curves and the door handle offers a few of them for your enjoyment. A skilled wrapper, however, would provide the results you want. They look dang near painted but with a satin texture.

Thanks for the info guys. I looked up CK wraps, there is NO WAY I can do that stuff! It looks so good, but I just know I can't. I can replace parts all day perfectly, but I don't have the patience or the artistic ability to pull that off! That said, I have a friend of a friend that does this. I better look into this.

Problem solved :) It's the cleanest method, it's worth throwing a few dollars at him.

a local shop quoted me $500 to paint the door handles either body color or black. but i have to remove/replace the handles myself. i might just get the stick on ones for $20 :)

I have the covers also with mirrors. They look cheap IMO. I am having it paint soon. i need time to remove handles have them painted.

if we do group like 10, i think the shop I am going will have good price.
I will update once i got it done.
