I just installed the 12 volt solutions remote start on my wife’s 2016 SR5, g key. She typically leaves her lights on all the time as they will shut off automatically when the vehicle is locked. Testing the remote start I noticed at the end of the 15 min run time or if you kill it with the remote the lights stay on. This didn’t happen with my 16’ tundra or 13’ 4runner. I uninstalled and have had several contacts with 12 volt solutions but I don’t think they have a fix. Has anyone seen this with any other products or models? I also noticed that one the remote start is initiated, the vehicle no longer beeps in response to the remote button presses.

I'm considering the 12v option and was wondering if j3r3g's question has occurred for anyone else or if this issue was resolved. Thanks!

Anyone with a 2020 or 2021 T4R install a remote start that doesn’t kill the engine when opening the door or when putting your foot on the brake to shift into gear? Thanks

It kills the engine as soon as you open the door. That is for the keyless entry though, not sure on the non premium trims.

All push button start vehicles will kill the engine when you open the doors.

Not true. At least not OEM. My wife's durango stays on.
