Headlight Disappointment

I have a 2020 ORP and I knew ahead of time that the headlamps would suck from reading numerous posts here.

Again, after reading numerous posts, I decided to go with H-9 bulbs. They suck almost as bad as the OEM bulbs. I will say the bright lights are not too bad but the low beams are horrible.

I have read that LED bulbs should not be used in projector beam headlamps but at this point, I’m willing to give it a try. They cannot be any worse than what I have now.

I have the OEM LED foglamps and they are o.k. but just o.k. I still want something brighter but I really do not want to spend a grand or more for headlamps.

I also plan on adding the BriteBox modules to be able to run fog lights with the bright lights or by themselves.

Well, unfortunately, the 4R lacks some more modern accoutrements; which is fine with me.

 

HID's work pretty dang well in the OEM projectors. I ran them in my OEM headlights for four years. Really happy with the light output and minimal glare.

 

I think it also depends what bulbs you get, it seems to be the consensus around here that the Philips ones on Amazon are pretty good.
I see a difference, not staggering, but better than OEM and plenty for night driving.
As a plus, I am going to order the oem led fogs, it seems they are the best bang for the buck

I'll be curious to see the results, though.

 

I went with GE MegaLight Ultra H11 +130% (that's quite a name) and the OEM fog lights. Better than stock, but definitely could be improved.
