Man, I was waiting for this to happen this weekend when I turned my rear defroster on. First time I've had to use it since I bought the 4runner. My understanding is that it has to do with the window getting scratched and breaking the contacts in the defrost wiring so that you get uneven heating which causes the window to blow. Or something along those lines.

Yeah I had no idea about it until after it happened, and the tint was scratched inside (I just bought it used last month) so I bet your right I had it replaced today, cost had I not had insurance through safe lite would of been $420 dollars! glad I have full glass!:bananadance:

Yeah, mine is scratched pretty good in a couple places on the outside. I know I have windshield coverage, but not sure about rear window.

If it was on the inside of the glass then I would be worried because that's where the actual defroster wiring/lines are, so you should be good! Yeah I didn't know I had full glass until I called just to check, I thought it was windshield only as well I got really lucky

It really depends. In my 01' most the time I run about 12.5-15 MPH or so.I have pulled 18 a few times on the hwy. I drive through the hills so my foot is in it. My 99 Limited still gets about 18-20.

I love those rims, and when I'm ready for 285s it's between those and the SCS 8s.

Ruby and her brother, manufactured in the same month/year. Pretty awesome, except the silver one has never seen so much as an old dirt trail. image.jpg
