Still have doubts for front recovery point~

Hey, exia, great question! It’s funny but most of the after market recovery points aren’t rated either, so there you go. Sure, they look tough, and probably are, but how tough? I was always taught when you hook up something to make a mental note of the weak points. A recovery is only as strong as its weakest link.
So, to answer your question on damage, the most important damage from any recovery is the potential of injury to anyone standing around or involved in the recovery. Btw, this does happen. It’s so easy to have something fail. When I see actual recoveries happening out in the trail it’s amazing more aren’t injured. No one is very safety conscious. If someone is recovering your vehicle, and using the OEM loops in front, make sure you have a line dampener fastened over the line being used. Make sure that you’ve got the vehicle fully released from the obstacle before attempting a recovery, and I’m sure those loops will be fine.
In my own case I have a Victory 4X4 aluminum blitz bumper with two pretty skookum, but unrated recovery points. Are they fool proof? Who knows? But, I left my OEM loops on there, too, just in case.

 

The problem I have with these is I have a sway bar relocation kit on mine and these go under the sway bar.

 

I can’t help ya with that although I’m sure someone will suggest ditching the sway bar

I had the Apex and then I snapped one of the main bolts just tightening it. I took them off and said I will take my chances with the stock ones.

Yeah I stopped by the other day to show my progress on my 4R. Its crazy how small the internet is. I actually sold them pretty quickly after. I don't miss the Jeep at all.

 

How do you like your Victory 4X4 bumper? I have they roof rack and like it. I need a bumper that is lightweight and has recover points and made for a winch. Your bumper is aluminum? Have you used your recover points (d-rings) yet? I agree, many people don't think safety. That is why I would like a synthetic line vs. a cable on the winch.

 

What is the brand or company that makes those red recovery points? How heavy are the two together? I really think they would do well on my 4th. gen. 4Runner.

Hi GoBlue2004! I haven’t used the recovery points yet, but they seem pretty strong! My bumper is aluminum, and a total weight of 102 lbs with a Warn Evo winch 10. I hope I never get to test them out, lol.
