My c4 low pro bumper is getting installed along with my winch and extreme led amber and white led bar. I need two switches to run the lights. What do you guys use and recommend? The simple toggle switches that came with the light bar aren’t to my liking. I want the switches to match the OEM look. Thx.

Im a fan of these switches but like 4x4Runner stated use a relay instead of hooking up directly to switch, they have kits with these switches on Amazon that come with a wiring harness and relay

I prefer the CH4x4 switches for a close to factory match.

Don't really care for any of the "factory match" style. I'm a retro red rocker man from way back, myself. This $5 Radio Shack 30a runs my Caliraised bar (through a relay). It's centered in the blank, the picture is just taken at an angle.

    It ain't for everyone.

Going to need relays for the lightbars. The amp rating on most those switches is limited to about 3amps. Light bars can draw more than that. I can draw up a quick schematic a little later on for you.

The blue doesnt match perfectly no, but, I also dont have it right next to any of the factory switches, so you cant really tell.
I have an orange one for the amber part of my led bar, blue for the white part, and another blue one that will be for other external lighting on the roof rack.

For tiny little lights, you could just use the switches, but for light bars, you definitely need to use relays.

For those who used Mictuning switch, did it eventually fail for any of you ? I installed a light bar but had to have shop do wiring since I’m not competent in that, switch worked fine for maybe 20 on and off cycles. But yesterday it stuck on, which was no good as I was heading to store and just playing with it in neighborhood.... so I kept gently pushing it until it released. Headed to store , got home not
Wanting to risk it staying stuck on again, and now it won’t lock into the on position at all. I can turn it on by holding pressure only if that makes sense, but will be worthless for practical purposes as I installed light bar for a weekly winding mountain dirt road trip. Can’t be one hand on wheel and other bending over to push the switch on.

Looking at Amazon reviews, this is a common problem with Mictuning brand switches for 4runner’s.

Any help on making it work? Some trick I missed? Doesn’t seem like it can be installed incorrectly as it locked into place after he wired it and seemed like a good fit.

I have a similar issue at times, at times, the switch will NOT latch ON.
I have to press it a couple times, or press it harder and then it will latch.
Never had it get stuck on though.
Mine seems a bit tight in my dashes hole though, it might be putting pressure on the sides of the switch?

I just added aironboard switch to mine. Waiting on adding another when they come in. The blue light matches my interior blue lights.

Well I guess I can play around with it when I get to the mountains, I live in Los Angeles and if it accidentally gets stuck on, even though I’m a retired cop, having a 20 inch LED light bar on any roadway will be a quick way to get pulled over or cause an accident blinding oncoming drivers.

i’m wondering if I should switch to a more reputable company perhaps because I don’t wanna be playing around with the switch. I sent the company an email to see if they respond and have any feedback since they’ve likely heard about this with all the comments I saw on Amazon and 4runner owners complaining.

Can you disconnect it? Is it running off your car battery? Till you can buy a new switch.

Yes if it sticks on I can disconnect it. Just don’t want to have to do that while going from mountain road to major Los Angeles interstate on side of road haha.

it currently is OFF, won’t lock into place ON, it is essentially functioning like a temporary push button tactical flashlight if you’re familiar with them, it’s only on when you hold the button down manually.

Opinions on air on board or CH4x4 as better quality and function than the Mictuning??

Maybe someone has been using the aironboard switches for sometime. I don’t have mine hooked up that long. So cannot give any info on it.

Got Air on Board switch, seems to function flawlessly and more sturdy, so hope it stays that way. Also color match of blue light is perfect to stock lights as well.

if anyone stumbles across this thread skip the Amazon Mictuning and pay a little more for an air on board switch to save hassles.

If anyone in Los Angeles wants a free Mictuning switch let me know. All yours. It works when not installed but once in the dash is hit or miss.

they are also sending me another one that may function better as a replacement that I won’t need either

assuming your wiring harness has the relay and you're just replacing the switch, I was pleased with my Mictuning switch. The blue didn't match exactly, but that didn't bother me. It looked OEM (when not illuminated) and functioned flawlessly.

initially I Could care less about color match. However my Mictuning switch stuck in the ON position while on public road and oncoming traffic. Not cool. Finally got it OFF, but then Could not get it to stay ON and it was just like a temporary push and hold button. Read reviews on Amazon- many people had same issue. Mictuning switches fit super tight in dash and makes its functioning hit or miss.
Why not pay $5 more and get a switch that works flawlessly and has near exact color match to stock?

just a suggestion for those switch shopping. Had I read the Mictuning reviews on Amazon I likely would have second guessed my purchase.

rago recently sold factory style switches for $5. You might check their site to see if that deal is still available.
