TPMS Reading Incorrectly 2020 TRD ORP

Good morning all, I recently installed the TRD Pro wheels on my 2020 a few months ago, and used the same TPMS without a problem. About a week ago, I got the tire warning light, and the pressures read 28-29 inside the car. I checked the pressures externally,and they are where they should be, at around 33-35. Do I need to simply reset them, or is there a larger problem here?

did you check your spare tire ?

 

Ditto, did you check the spare? This has been prevalent in what seems to be the last 15 years or so. With more technology comes more problems!

 

I checked all of the tires with a manual gauge, and they are good. The TPMS was accurate up until about 2 weeks ago.

 

Update! I finally checked the spare, and as suspected, it was at 60 psi. I lowered it to what the rest of the tires are, around 37. I am still getting a reading inside the truck, of 29-31 for all 4 tires. As I had said, this just started about 2 weeks ago, and I had never changed my pressures since I installed the TRD wheels, with the original TPMS, about 3 months ago. I am not sure what is going on.

I could be wrong, thought I saw how to calibrate 2020 tpms right on the dash somewhere

 

I apologize for eating so much lead paint as a child, and not reading the reset procedure in the manual at the start. However, I did the reset, drove around as required, and when the pressure readings came back they are still wrong. I know for a fact what the true pressures are, so now I must admit I am not sure what the issue is.

 

How about dealer since its under warranty?

 

That may be my only option, just not in a hurry to let them touch it.

 

what if u let all air out, put to 38PSI, what is your reading?

 

Once I got new tires, the issue resolved itself. Now with my Toyos, all is well!

 

I'm having tpms issues as well since I swapped out my 2020 tires. I guess a lot of guys are having the same issues since the calibration tool these tire shops have don't have the updated 2020 software

 

I used the same TPMS when I switched wheels, and I had no issue with calibration. The truck recognized them right away, I had just had a small issue with the PSI being wrong. Once I got new tires, they read perfectly.

 

When I just had my new 285’s added to my 2020 Pro my tire place did not put the sensors on the truck where they originally they were. Because I also added my F5 wheels and the road force balance machine they use tells them which tire should go on the vehicle for the best position. You need to follow the owners manual instruction how to link back up the tpms. I had no issues after following my manual.
