    Cloud Peak Wilderness was the destination and Lake Geneva. The day before hiked to the opposite side of Cloud Peak Wilderness to Willow Lake from Buffalo Wyoming. Worked as a wrangler here 50 years ago. The trailhead at Coffeen Park requires 7 miles in 4 low from Park Reservoir, which is 22 miles out of Big Horn Wyoming up Red Grade Road, a steep rutted road. A few days ago when I was at the Forest Service office in Buffalo the woman said she usually advised against attempting the road past the reservoir. Well... decided to risk it. ;-)

    Honestly you’re looking at Colorado’s best kept secret.

    If there were ever to be a meetup, I can tell you this is the place to do it. Set your calendars for 11 months, 2 weeks from today to pack the Runner and point it toward Lake City, CO.

    We moved here two years ago after traveling around the country. Stumbled on it by accident when we found this epic house in need of a lot of love. It’s on 10 acres, no HOA. We lived hard through the winter in our RV renovating this place. Feels like a dream every single day. I can promise you none of it is wasted on me. We’re super lucky to have found it.

    Straight off the lot with 20 miles I took mine (unplanned) to ID for an Elk hunt. On the way home took side trip through eastern WA that led me straight through a huge burn area. It’s was quite surreal.
