    Hello all!

First post on here. I recently bought a 2020 SR5, love it. Except I've noticed that there is some engine braking going on even on flat roads. I know it's normal when on a decline, i.e. mountain passes, steep slopes, etc. But this is happening when I release the gas pedal typically at 40-35mph, sometimes even at 60/50pmh. It feels like there is resistance and it's pretty annoying. I'm used to my previous SUV's coasting nicely, with no resistance or feeling like there's engine braking going on. Is this typical for the 4Runner? I'm going to bring it into the dealer just in case (for peace of mind lol).

Does it downshift? Can you see the RPMS go up? Or were you cruising in a higher and it won’t change gears? And just making sure, you’re not in sport mode correct?

I can see the RPMs go up for hot sec and downshifts. And yep, not in sport mode.

If it’s downshifting on a flat surface without any traffic then something might be off. It would be worth a trip to the dealer.
