I am looking to get my first 4runner. A friend offered to sell me a 2011 4Runner that has 78k miles for $9000 usd. It has a good maintenance record, I know the owner and she never took it off road, and it was only involved in one minor accident with a 1k repair. I think it’s a good deal, what are your guys thoughts?

Was the accident to the front end ? If it was I would just check to make sure steering is good and no shaking at high speeds or when you brake. Sounds like a really good deal!

Nope everything is good, the hit was to the drivers side door (I saw the damage after the accident) it didn't affect functionality but pushed a bit of the door body and it was pulled out by a shop.

Then that’s a steal unless it’s rusted out underneath. Check the frame and if it’s not rusted badly you found a gem.

If it has 4wd - I say go for it.
    If 2wd only - pass.

1st thing you need to do with it is...

That sounds like a great deal! I know in Springfield they don't typically use salt on the roads, I have seen them put some brine down on 60 between Springfield and Cabool during an ice storm a couple of Christmases ago. Make sure you check that undercarriage though just to be sure that you're not looking at rust issues. Congratulations!

I will definitely be taking to a shop for a full inspection prior to purchase just to make sure no surprises are to be had. From my first look only a bit of surface rust on a few spots but want a mechanic to verify it is nothing to worry about.

    Cheap stuff
That's a really good friend you have to sell you a 4Runner for that price. Just look at KBB just to give you a general idea, but no 5th gen 4runner will sell for that low, even for a 2wd clean title.
