I have a set of Ray 10 on my 5th gen 4runner with -10mm offset and a set of Spidertrax 1.25” spacers. I also have an IVD stage 2 with SPC UCA. I am considering going to a -38mm offset but am curious if I would need to remove the spacers? I currently have no rubbing issues. I am running 285/70/17 Ridge Grapplers.

Unless you want some nasty rubbing and a super wide stance, ditch the spacers. -38mm is plenty, it brings out the tires outside the fender well. I imagine -38mm combined with a spacer would be horrible for your wheel bearing on the trails. If you haven’t had a BMC done yet, you probably will have to when you go to the -38mm wheel. I have a pretty big BMC and I still occasionally rub on the body mount, but I also have 295’s.

I have the -38 on mine, but running 275s, along with the Stage 1. I had to get a BMC because of the rubbing. Agree with not needing the spacers. They’re plenty wide.

I ended up just keeping my -10MM with the spacers. I tried to order -38mm offset when they had the matte dark bronze available but the system screwed up and ordered -10mm instead. When they tried to fix it they were out of stock on the -38mm. I appreciate the input.

I was running trail wheels with spidertraxx spacers which gave me a -16.75 offset. I'm lifted 3" upfront running Ridgegrapplers in a 285/70. Mine didn't rub at first. After a few trails, weight from armor, plus a year's time the front springs started to sag. This led to rubbing while off-road. Took the spacers off and problem solved. I think in my situation, the goldilocks zone is gonna be a 0 offset wheel.

All of this to say, -38 with a 1.25 spacer is gonna give you an effective offset of -69.75mm which is ridiculous. Put them on and take pictures, but don't drive that way lol. Even a -38 offset sounds like too much considering my recent experience. Then again, if you never wheel it, then you'll probably be fine.

Do you have any photos with the -10 offset wheels, but without spacers? I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to order -10 or -38mm

I love that color too. I think it looks great on certain color 4runners though, like Army Green and Cavalry Blue. I’m not a fan of it on silver. I went with Matte Gunmetal.583146F4-135D-453F-B958-A5CD66C1E597.jpg

Did you add spacers? If not that angle makes it look wide!

This looks great! Are these on 285/70/17 Yoko Geolandar MT G003? If so, how do you like them? I hadn’t considered M/Ts due to weight, but looks like these weigh in around 59lb.

Thanks! Yes they are. I love the look and weight for M/T was a a big plus. However this is primarily a daily driver and even though I do some off roading, I don’t do enough. They obviously are louder and ride rougher than A/T. So after about a week I returned them and went with Ridge Grapplers. Not as aggressive but drives better for my normal usage. I haven’t updated the pic yet, but I will

That’s good to know, I’m in the same boat as mine is my daily driver as well. I’ve driven a vehicle with M/Ts and they were loud... was sort of hoping you were going to say that they weren’t bad. Would love to see how your rig currently looks with the Nittos.

Still looks great! Have the Nittos been good for you? I haven’t made up my mind yet on tires. Been leaning toward the Toyo AT3 but not sure.

I like them. Had KO2 prior which were good as well. I looked at Toyo, but just wasn’t the look I wanted. It’s a rabbit hole you can go down. Same with suspension. If I hadn’t picked the Nitto, I think I would have gone with cooper stt pro.
