Hi everyone, I have a quick question about how low we can go. I have a limited 4runner 2017, and I find the lowering the PSI give a better ride, less bumpy and more enjoyable. The recommended tire PSI specs in the door is 32psi. I tried, to run them from 31 to 38 psi. 38 is really bumpy but better on the full economy. I don't really care about losing some MPG for a little bit more confort. So, now I run them at about 31 PSI, and my question is, how much low I can go safely ? I mean, I don't plan to go much lower than 30 PSI cause I know that too low is going to make more problem, and possibly safety issue. I think it will be all good around 30. Do you think its safe ? How much are you running in your 4R on 20inch wheel ?

Thank you and have a nice day !

I wouldn’t go below 32 for daily personally. I have 40 in mine. Given that you have really thin tires I’d say stay within manufacturer spec. You have less tire protecting your wheel from possible damage.

Hi thank for your input, you are right about the tire, its more thin than the 17inch one. For now, they are at 31 psi cold, so after 5-10 minutes of driving they are already at 33 psi, so its probably not an issue for now since its warm, but i will need to take a look closely as winter they will not warm at all.
