5th Gen 4Runner Power Folding Mirrors

Sooooo.... is this even a thing anymore? People are asking about ( including myself ) this and I’ve emailed, pm’d, and called over the past month and no answers. I have 2 vehicles and about to buy a 3rd and wanted to ask some questions.

Daytonaviolet, you said you were going to ping her. Any response?
I’m starting to wonder if the business is up and running.
If so, I hope the product is better than the customer service/support.
Might have to go a different direction.....

Well I reached out to her during the beginning of the pandemic and asked about the kits. That’s when she mentioned she’s updating them to be better and stronger. But takes time and the pandemic made things worse.

Since she’s been replying, thought it’s my responsibility to forward the info.

 

Is there any new info/update this or availability? For the “new” design.

hey guys, i just found the solution to all of this and for cheaper. I was browsing for a new head unit and found the T9 radio and on the same site they offer the same kit fr the power folding mirrors for way less and the switch is LED i paid 200USD for it. https://cartrimhome.com/Rear-View-M...For-Toyota-4Runner-2014?search=4runner&page=2 i will update once i get it installed. By the way there is a FB group called CTH T9 4runner that supports the radio and any product they make. So far customer service has been great and even offer discounts plus free shipping.

Saw this on the cth fb group as well. But I’ll wait until someone installs and reviews it first. I know ktjo4x4 is working on a new kit which has an illuminated auto fold/unfold dash switch.

 

It’s 2020 and I don’t have fb ( lol... I know I know ) but does the cth kit not auto fold with key fob? This is a feature that I really would like to have.

 

I believe the both auto fold with fob. I’m not sure if the cth has illuminating folding switch button.

Just to give an update i received the mirrors today and dove in an adventure to get these installed.
they are good quality, the bracket is the same as the OEM and lines up perfectly to match all the holes, not hard to install i gave a quick video showing it working in the FB page and hopefully get to do a full install video. but for now 8/10 just because it does not come with instructions just basic wire info but being honest for the price i am not complaining.

Can’t see the video but any chance to get a pic of the switch? Does it light up? Does it work with the smart key as well as the switch itself?
Was hoping to get these for my wife’s 2020 limited. Surely it’s the same as the ‘19

I would like to know if the mirrors fold in when you push the button on the switch. This would be helpful when backing into my small garage.

just finished the install on my girlfriends 19'. Wasn't bad at all besides getting OCD with running all the wiring.

 

Awesome. Any installation tips ? I plan to do mine tomorrow.

 

the first mirror took me 30~ish mins just because i didnt want the spring in the stock housing to shoot out at me. Once i realized it didn't the second mirror only took 15 or so mins to swap over. If you need any help during i can assist if need be.

What did you use for constant Vdd ?

 

the same plug that the blue(lock) and white(unlock), the bottom left pin(thick red), is 12v constant. i went poking around w the voltmeter before i started.
