The seat ventilation is not heated or cooled, it’s simply moving air that’s already in the vehicle.

Is it actually blowing air out? Pretty much every manufacturer has gone away from the air hockey table design and they use a fan to pull air through the seat and out the bottom. It’s more effective and comfortable to pull air away and remove the heat than it is to blow on the heat.

Well mine were/are-sometimes-still actively cooled. It was blowing cold air for sure.

But for the past month there are times when the seats keep blowing hot air for the entirety of my drives even for 30 min or so until I just turn them off.

I think I’ll need warranty service

Why even ask the question if you have no idea how it works, you're not going to listen, and you’re going to waste a trip to the dealer regardless?

    Lol. Reading comprehension Test:

    1. mine blew very cold air even on very hot days this summer.

    2. Suddenly they sometimes blow only hot air even during medium hot or warm days.

= there is an intermittent problem

    see? Reading comprehension

Regardless of what you think happened, it never blew air colder than the interior temperature, that’s impossible, the system is literally just a fan that circulates air.

If you want colder air seat ventilation, make sure to press the 2nd button which directs AC air thru the front and bottom vents. Also make sure AC is on.

remember it’s just a fan circulating what ever air temp is under the seats up into the air pockets of the seat.

If my seats don’t blow colder or warmer air, why is there a control knob that has a cold or hot setting?

I believe my limited blows cooler or warmer air through the seats, but I have never really investigated

The seats have a heating elements in them (hence heated seats), so you can ventilate it while heating the seat. The seat does not have a cooling system, it’s substantially harder to make something hot cold, than it is to make something cold hot. Also if you notice they refer to “heated seats” all over, but you will never find any reference of “cooled seats” anywhere, just ventilated.

Ventilation fan for reference :) It only circulates the air temp around the fan, thus the word ventilation rather then cooling.

It may not “heat” or “cool” the air it circulates, but I will say the air is cooler or warmer depending on which way I turn the temp setting knob.

In our 2017 Limited, we experience intermittent seat cooling. Sometimes it works, I believe it may be a switch issue. For example if I turn the knob to the first position the fan will not come on, but if I then turn the knob to a higher position the fan will come on. When it works the seat becomes very cool to the point where it is too cold.
