Yup. I remember seeing something about the display setting. 720 vs 1080 but I tried everyone and zip

when it’s in reverse camera mode, you can tap on the screen. When the option comes up, select auto.

I figured it out. Long story short I was missing a connection.

The family and I went out for food today and having the bigger screen and all touch screen was nice. Still have a lot to learn about the unit though

I just placed the order for Mine on the 2nd. Looking forward to getting rid of the factory unit. I will still hold on to it just incase things go south.

Definitely hold on to it. I had my T9 since mid March and I just sent it back last week. My 2nd one should be arriving in a few weeks :)

I know I'm way behind the party here, but did the radio have preamp outputs for front, rear, and sub? Looking to do a pretty similar setup to you looks like!

How do the steering wheel controls work with the T9? Is an adapter needed? Can you custom program what the buttons do?

The t9 comes with a harness which has a canbus to control all native steering buttons; volume, next/previous. Canbus also displays door and HVAC stays to the screen. Custom programming is available but you’ll need to switch wires in a plug.

I've had it for a couple weeks now and love it! I'm an Apple fan but the android unit works fine and I heard the skipping thing when it was 1st installed a couple times but that was when it was tethered to my phone's wifi. Androids and Apples don't get along:p The unlimited SIM card from ATT was kind of a struggle to get started. I set up the SIM card with an old 4g capable iPhone and installed it in the sim holder because the head unit would only register 2G. The sim holder itself wasn't making contact with the SIM card so I bent the contact pins and used a shim to hold it tight then wrapped the holder in electrical tape. Hopefully this help the next person who installs!

Yesterday I added a hardwire to my wireless CarPlay. I wired it to the console to this usb/audio port. It allows me to connect to CarPlay and charge 3.4A rate.

Is this available for the 2020s? Internet seems to say 'no'.

From what I understand, no. But don't the 2020's come with the bigger screen?

Just installed the T9 from Rhino... everything is working fantastic EXCEPT Torque Pro. I got the OBD2 Bluetooth from Rhino and plugged it in, turned it on... then on the T9 I hit the Bluetooth app. Search, it finds the OBD2, touch and hold it, it pops up with a window saying OK - OBD2 - CANCEL i hit OK, and get the message "Pairing Successful". I then go to Torque Pro, go into settings to select the BOD2 scanner... but does not find it.

I tried to remove the OBD2 and pair about 4 times. It will not connect to Torque even though it says it's Paired int he Bluetooth app.

    Ideas?

    Thanks all!

Not for the t9 specifically, but I have used Torque with the adapters and have found the adapters are usually the problem. It took me returning my adapter and getting another one for it to work correctly when using the app on my phone. Exact same type of adapter, exact same phone, exact same vehicle. Just bad QC I guess.

I'll try that out, I have another OBD2 that i have used before... it's about 3 times bigger but at least i can see if thats the issue.

It's not the OBD2 unit. I tested it on my phone with Torque and it works fine. Also swapped the OBD2 with another i have and it's doing the same thing in the T9. There must be a certian way to setup the OBD2 in the T9 for it to read it correctly as an incoming Bluetooth connection instead of Outgoing like a phone.

I don't have the head unit in front of me so I might get this wrong but Ill try to explain how I have to do it....

Go to the Bluetooth app, click on settings, there should be a list of 4 or 5 setting (one should be the code to connect to Bluetooth, 1234) click on the last setting at the bottom, it should show a graphic about having 2 different Bluetooth devices, click OK at the bottom of the screen, should take you to the next page where you have to turn on the secondary Bluetooth.

I don't remember if you have to connect the OBDII unit to that Bluetooth or not but I do know that I have to go through these steps every time I get into the car because that setting always gets turned off when the unit power cycles.

Hope this helps and I think I have all the steps listed but let me know if that helps you

    Hello everyone,

I am a newbie here. I plan on modifying my 2011 SR5 and the T9 head unit looks pleasant. Thanks for all the inputs from everyone. Very helpful.
    Few questions;
1- I plan on adding a reverse and maybe a dash cam. Will the T9 work? Since the reverse cam isn't stock, it will be powered via the reverse light. Will that work with the T9?
2- Rhinoradios or Cartrimhome? Rhinoradios offers an openbox/cheaper option.
3- Is there any antifinger print screens that fit the T9 display?
4- I believe the car built in XM won't work but the XM android app will, is that right?
5- Any issues with getting steering buttons working on 2011 SR5?
6- Does it use the car mic or the T9 mic?
7- How to get the TPMS connected?
8- Texas is hot, like +100F. Does the unit have any issues with that?
9- Any idea when T10 is coming out?

Got my T9 installed and working, pretty happy all over, but having issues with the whole android auto. What are people using for connecting their phone to the head unit, I don't really trust the easyconnection app that comes installed on the unit.

Don't know if this helps but I just installed my T9 and used this camera after I purchased the RiGD swing carrier. There is a harness with a power lead built in. Plug and play.

    https://www.rigdsupply.com/products/toyota-backup-camera-relocation-kit

I am interested in this as well. Native Android Auto is better than nothing but I haven't figured out to get the calls/messages to sync.

Also I couldn't find any real info on the steering wheel controls. I tried to program them but that does not seem to be working.

Did you ever get the wifi connection figured out? My T9 is doing the same thing, however, now the unit can't find any wifi signals at all. Even my phone's mobile hotspot.

I can only use when using my phone as a Hotspot. I usually need to go into settings, then hit the network button to make sure my cell is linked. Once it is, it works great.

Overall, I've been pretty happy with the T9.

So has anyone picked up the T10 version yet?

I'm hesitant to buy a Chinese-based Android device, not because of quality, but because I wonder how quickly it'll become outdated.

Even with brand-name smartphones, after 3 years or so, the OS starts to fall behind as apps are continually updated to Google's newer standards. GMaps comes to mind the most.
