Hello Everyone! New to the 4R Forum, but a long time member of TW. We just bought the wife a nice shiny TRD Off Road 4Runner & she had to to have the sunroof. Knowing we eventually want to get a roof rack on there, I was wondering about wind noise if you go with a full length rack like Prinsu or SSO make. I understand they are modular meaning you can even go as far as to leave out the cross bars over your sunroof area, but I was wondering if anyone had done that and if the wind noise would be tolerable (sunroof open) since it would be sitting below the front fairing. I just like the look of the full length racks better than the 3/4" length versions, but the last thing I want is to hear complaints about noise with the sunroof open if we do it...ha ha ha... Just looking for anyone who has experience with it. Thanks in advance.

It's minimal. I've owned both with a sunroof and without.

I find the sun roof noisy at highway speed with or without a roof rack, depending on speed, wind, how far it’s opened. My roof rack is a 3/4 Front Runner. It didn’t change much from the OEM plastic side rails in terms of noise.
