Anyone got some information on the upTOP Overland full roof rack? I've been eyeballing that one lately; between that, the SSO and the Prinsu.

No offense Drew but can you actually be unbiased toward your own product? I like the new Bravo rack but don't see any at all in my area of San Diego to get an up close look. I realize they're fairly new and the site really doesn't have an install video or close up images to see how they mount, how it was installed, etc. At least non that I've found. Shoot me your #, I'll be in touch.

I had my order confirmed on Feb 19th. Im going to drive out from KC and just have them install it on July 29th. Make a mini vacation out of it, hit Breckinridge and Golden. Do some hiking. Cant wait to get it on the Rig tho : )

unbiased? yes, i can give you the facts. unopinionated? no, probably not. you are correct in the fact that the Bravo for the 4runner is quite new, however the the Alpha has been around for over a year. Both of the 4Runner models mount with 1/4" aluminum feet to the factory holes. They use a pressure foot that sits on the drip rail at the front of the vehicle to add more stability.

We don't have an install video at this time but there are comprehensive instructions on our website.

if you have any other questions, feel free to ask away!

Got my Gobi Stealth Rack installed at the shop in Aurora, CO! Super nice folks, was in and out in an hour and got some free stickers too! BTW if you make an appointment for an install its the surest way to know when you will get your rack. The option I finally took, ordered back on February 19th. Drove out and hiked and MTB in Breckinridge for a few days and made a little vacation out of it.

It take a bit longer and costs a few more bucks, but the no rise is definitely worth it for someone like me who will never add a light bar. I always thought the regular rise looked goofy without a light bar.

I agree. The no rise looks really sleek. The others, not my cup of tea.

Did you install it? If so, what did you use as sealant?

Correct. Stealth w/ the no-rise option. They charge an extra $200 to do it this way because they need to adjust their tooling....it's worth it to me.

Just to confirm, the no rise option is additional to the 4 options they offer ?

Correct. When you order, just tell them you want the no riser option (Kind of like the secret menu at In N Out). Everything else is identical to what you see on the website. It's +$200 for no rise and takes a week or two longer. To me, it's worth the wait and worth the coin.

Closeup....this is a better view of how it looks with the no rise. If you aren't going to add lights or a light bar, this is a lot cleaner IMO. Makes the top bar the same height all the way around.

Just quoted 12 weeks on mine.

I hope I get it in time for my trip in 12 weeks.

Just kidding. That always seems to lead to a lot of butthurt around here.

I'll get it when I get it.

yes I ordered few weeks back and just now added no-rise. At first I wanted a rise to add a light bar. But realized I still could add a bar with no-rise.

Great attitude to have - I noticed that they added a tracking button on their website so at least you'll be able to get some info. In any case, it will be worth the wait!

I pulled the trigger and ordered a stealth rack a week ago w/sunroof insert and got the Summer deal with ladder, bag, gas shocks. Quoted 12-16 weeks. I ordered on the website and they called me back the next day, I called to adjust the order and they immediately answered. It looks like they have improved things since a year and more ago when a lot of the complaints were flooding the internet. Let's hope it comes by xmas!!

I missed their confirmation call, called back about an hour later. Talked to two different people and was transferred and answered immediately. I was pretty happy with their customer service.

I bet the DO NOT FRIGGEN CALL BEFORE 10 WEEKS plastered all over everything helps haha

I wouldn't think so. I ordered a ladder at first, because I had plans for another rack, then called back a week later and added the rack et al. I mean its a separate piece they should be able to just grab off the shelf lol.

I mean really though, you would think the manufacturing process is systematic like one guy spends months just bending round tube for the rack frame and stocking shelves, another gal is just cutting cross bars and crimping the ends stacking them up in bins, another person is fabricating all the brackets. You would think there are bins of these parts for all the various models where the assembler can just get the order, pick the parts. throw them into a jig and go weld then send to the sand blaster/powder coater.

Data analysis would tell them which model and rack is most popular so they could focus and forecast on part supply.
