I've used a drift punch because the cheap tool that was sent with mine started to bend. But I adjusted mine off the vehicle.
They make better tools called a spanner wrench. Kar Tek sells them, and there may be better ones for sale. If the shocks are on the vehicle it won't be easy, because you have to loosen the locking bolt for the collar, and tighten it back up. I've never tried it so there may be someone with more knowledge doing that.

Well, there ya go! Pretty cool, I guess you don't get the half turn option because you can't lock the collar, but who cares at that point. You just have to make sure you can get to the locking bolt to start with though. I'm gonna look into the compressor for the next time I rebuild mine. I had to drive about 30 minutes one way to my buddies shop to use his wall mount. Twice, once for disassembly and then again to reassemble.

Forget this one. At least for eibach springs. I only bought this because some reviews of Tacoma guys said it worked wonders to adjust coilovers on the rig.
Eibach is wound to tight and this and others I have the jaws just don't fit
Yet another 100 Eibach has cost me because their own R&D says yes, you need a compressor but can't recommend one. Sorry can you tell I'm pissed at them!
