I just turned 16 a couple of months ago and was wondering if the 4th Gen 4Runners would be a good first car.

    Happy belated birthday and welcome!!
I’m no expert but I can say the 4th gen is a great first starter vehicle. I started with a 3rd gen!

Welcome to the forum! They're great vehicles. A 2nd gen was my first non-POS vehicle. :D

Absolutely. If it's been taken care of much at all, it should be a great ride. My 5th gen is my 9th or maybe 10th vehicle (my first 4Runner though)...I'd love have a 4th gen to play around with.
