Chasing a miss. It started out on number 6. Changed spark plugs, coil packs. Then head gaskets timing chain water pump Eventually the #6 injector and both knock sensors that seemed to fix it for a few thousand miles. It seems to be worse when it get warm. I get a P0328 knock sensor bank one error when it gets bad enough.
I swear this is stressful. I should have pushed it to the junk yard but now I have more money in it than a new one. Any suggestions?

IS this the right place for mechanical issues? Is there a different forum?

Take it to a top mechanic. You could be wasting your time.

What year 4runner? How many miles?

    2005 2WD SR5 150,000 miles

    Never had an engine issue

    4 starters in 15 years.

    WP, alternator, radiator all OEM.

I feel for you, sjoefl01! I can be a bit obsessive compulsive with intractable problems like this too, so I know what you're talking about. I'd strongly second captsolo's advice to get a second opinion. You've already crossed the line by fixing some none problems, but maybe they're not a waste. Spend any future money on expert diagnosis based on technical reproducible results.
