2020 4 Runner TRD PRO. Does it HAVE to be sold for MSRP? Is it worth the extra money?

Harmon Kardon is a JBL company and I did pull out one of my factory JBL speakers while I was putting on Dynamat. It looks very good quality to me. You're probably referring to the Non-JBL factory speakers. And I'm happy with the sound quality of my JBL. That Subwoofer back there bumps like crazy.

And the color. Can't get a Voodoo Blue in the Venture edition. You may not like Voodoo blue but I get a lot of compliments because it's rare. I'm probably the only one in my city that has this color. Blue is my favorite color and I was happy to find this beauty, and no I did not pay over MSRP for it. I found a dealership that does not over price there Pros.

I was able to pick up a 2020 Pro in Elko NV for MSRP. $50,800. Of course that was 2 weeks before COVID. The dealer here where I live in South SF wanted a $17K markup!!! What a joke $73K for a 4Runner. Though they did say there was "wiggle room" on that price o_O

I love the voodoo blue and the cement. Actually almost bought a used voodoo blue pro but I wanted a 2020 cause I hate using a key to start vehicle, love push button and bigger screen. I was talking about the JBL system I had in a tundra pro, the quality was terrible I replaced with audio frog speakers so much better. They must have put better speakers in 4runner. But I do know that when a manufacturer like Bose, JBL, Alpine makes a speaker for a auto manufacturer they are not even close to the quality speaker they make when you buy them from someone like crutchfield. I never understood that, but found it to be true in many of my vehicles with upgraded audio systems.

I wanted white so I actually waited till 2020 from 2019 for the upgraded doodads. Since its my first brand new truck I wanted at least a few things beyond power locks and windows HA!

I know it sounds stupid but keys hitting the dash and my knee drives me crazy. Lol. That is another plus side to the pro is that u get those rare colors. I chose the classic silver and made it look like the pro since I dont think they ever made a pro in that color so it's kinda different.

I cannot see any rationale for anyone paying above MSRP for any 4Runner, Pro or otherwise. I think the standard is around 2k below MSRP currently.

I do far prefer the keyless system I have on my Tacoma. Wish I had it on the 'runner.

Certainly not $17,000 over! Though someone bought it just before I got mine so I wonder how much over they paid. Another at a dealer close to me sold for $5K over MSRP but I wasnt gonna pay that either. Granted had I waited till COVID I coulda probably saved a few thousand. But then hindsight is always a bitch.

I also liked the silver pro wheels on venture better than the flat black on pro. Almost every truck I have had in past had black wheels wanted a change.

They look nice for sure. I always wanted the white on black. I found a few Army green ones and its a nice color but not one I feel like I could live with for years and I plan on keeping this thing for a very long time. Unless of course I lose my job heh...

When I was looking I did find many pros fully loaded selling for around 48k in my area unless it was the green color they were going for about 50k.

I'm an old fashion guy I don't need all that extra fancy stuff. I always looked at this way the more fancy gadgets you have in the car the more things you have to worry about breaking down. I've been using keys to start my cars ever since I was driving and the bigger screen, the only thing I use my radio for is to listen to music why would I need a big screen to see what songs are playing. As far as keys hitting my knees, I'm 6'4 and it never bothered me.

My bro has the TRD Off Road classic silver 2020 made it looked like a Pro went to a mall one day some dude in a Tacoma TRD Pro said to him, "Dude don't be a Poser!"

Lol that's true, one reason why i would never put pro emblems on mine. But i dont think anyone would confuse mine for a pro. I parked next to one last week at pet store and it made the pro look TINY!!! Lol

I thought long about the Venture. The dealer near me had one of every color. But here in the Bay Area they were still going for $46,000 and when I found a Pro I wanted for MSRP I went with that. I actually prefer the ride of the Fox Suspension which was the ultimate deciding factor as well.

Yeah that's one thing I told my bro not to do, put on the Pro Emblems. Good thing he didn't. He thought about lifting it and put big tires, but we can never forget what girls use to say to us guys back in college, they said guys who lift trucks and put on big tires have SMALL you know what.

Hmmm I never heard that. Lol. No it's all in fun. I like all the trim model 4runners except limited and nightshade just dont like those front ends on those models

I agree, the Limited and Nightshade is more for driving around the city and maybe mild off road but not so much for really tough terrains as the front ground clearance is not so high.

Oh yeah. Not a fan of the front end on those. Test drove one too and was not a fan of the ride with the 20" wheels and low profile tires.

Thanks for that info. That's what I figured. My wife used to have a 2007 Highlander it says it has 10 JBL speakers but I only counted 6 Speakers. So I assumed the door speakers were counted as two.

I dont care about woofers, sub woofers, and tweeters........I just listen to AM sports talk radio anyways. (i"m boring)
And my 2020 SR5 has a key ignition. (i like that)
I'm old and boring I guess?....plus I'm coming from a 11 year old explorer, so anything is better than that old box o' crap!
But I do love looking at your ORP's, TRD's, Limiteds'. and Premiums.
Keep posting the good pics & i'll keep watching.
    Stay healthy my friends

I’m shopping for a ORP or PRO and I’m just amazed how scummy the Toyota dealers are here in SoCal! Almost every PRO I found, the dealer added a wheel and tire package or a bunch of shitty body moulding to squeeze another $10k out of you! I remember from my days of selling Toyotas back in 2010 that Toyota didn’t allow dealers to markup vehicles so this is their way to go around that. The main reason I want a pro is the green color.

I found mine in Nevada with no extras and they didn’t even try to charge over msrp. Check out Elko Motors in Nevada. Super easy to deal with and maybe they have gotten a green one or know where one is. Had mine delivered and only cost $600 to SF.
