Beautiful part of the county up there.

    One of my favorite places.

    Nice pic!

Another one in the books! Also got to try out our new Slumberjack Roadhouse. Pretty nice. Didn't go all the way to the ground by the car but DEFINITELY helped with the mosquito situation.

Got treated to an air show, C-130's testing their MAFFS fire retardant system, while digging up quartz points. Maybe three hours of them dropping on that summit, sometimes we got some mist from it. One even buzzed us on the way out; I felt like I was out in Saline Valley.

Look me up if you go to southern Utah, I have a vacation house in Cedar City. It's a good base camp location. I should have my jeep sold by then and be in a new 4 runner.

What's the Advantage/Disadvantage on roof top tent? I'll never get my wife to go camping, her Idea is when we go out of town to stay at Marriott or Hilton, anything else is camping:rolleyes:

Off the ground, quick setup, more interior cargo space... I don’t have one so just speculation

More interior space, less bugs. However, depending on style, time is debatable. Ours is a fold out one, easy to set up HOWEVER, I can set up most ground tents faster. Another thing that has both been nice and bad about it has been leveling out for sleeping, you are stacking rocks or traction boards like I do to get the tent level-ish. Another limiting factor with ours is that my 5 year old is getting bigger and the wife and I are running out of space. We are going to have to do something soon like flip back to ground tenting. Another issue we have run into is having to pack up the tent before doing little runs from "base camp". Cant just hop in and go. We are looking at building a little camp trailer and mounting the tent to it for easier trips, also going with ground tents for longer trips, the RTT takes up a lot of room on top where you can store gear as well. The BIG advantage to a RTT is getting wives who dont like sleeping on the dirt out there haha! If i go on a trip by myself, i ground tent it, not worth the effort to me. They are nice for two people but if you can use a ground tent in my opinion that might be better/cheaper. Just my opinion having both.

My wife's biggest concern about RTT is her own clumsiness conspiring with gravity to produce her untimely death.

I may or may not have been given a lesson in gravity by Dr. Daniels and Coke with the aid of our RTT... her concern is real hahaha

    Tinted fronts, blacked out overlays.

Finally got to put some dirt under my tires. Took off early this morning to checkout Big Pine Flat Trail in the San Bernardino Mountains. Took my Daughter, Grandson & Puppy. Puppy got a little car sick so we had to cut the trip a little short. Had fun, I’m a novice at this but felt the Eibach suspension was pretty darn good off & on road, granted I didn’t do anything gnarly but for I what I wanted it for it feels pretty darn good.

Here we go. BLM map showed the road went on, but nope. Had to get pulled out this time, almost feel in a creek with a 5 foot drop-off! Re20200605_143417[9756].jpg sting on the frame, front left tire in the air, rear tire in a hole at the riverbank.
