I can’t believe my phone works it was at the bottom of the stream for 3-5 minutes. So far just the thumb button doesn’t work but I can live with that....

 

If you haven’t seen a trout jump two feet out of the water, you haven’t lived yet...

 

I get all teary eyed and think “Man I got to make a lil mini-me to bring along”.

 

All I can say about taking a young kid fishing is to take them somewhere where they can catch a bunch of little fish. I made mine go catfishing with me when he was young and I'm pretty sure he hated it. No patience.

 

You haven’t catfished the Potomac then? If I didn’t use big eels to “upsize” my catch I could land dozens in one tide change....

 

No, I haven't. I would take him to a small lake here that had big flatheads in it. Sometimes, we would catch smaller fish to keep ourselves entertained. But, usually I would just throw out big baits for big fish. And, we would rarely get more than one or two hits a night.

 

i have nephews that love to fish!! Check out this White Bass. I’ve never seen one before...

 

Well I “limited” out on trout. I had to use all my ninja skills. Didn’t think there was any left. Even with a sprained ankle....

 

Fished a creek that feeds the Potomac today. Kept Bullhead Cats, Bluegill, and a Crappie. Let go a few Bass, had a monster on but it got off. I’m gonna be going back after that one. Was a lil skeptical about keeping the cats. But they ended up being delicious. Tastes just like crab meat...

 

And my nephew caught a 6 pound bass today!!!

 

Red-Breast Sunfish!! I’ve never even seen one. My nephew is rippin lips!!!

 

Caught a few over the years. Fishing is good in Oregon. Or....was. Still live on the river....but now spend most of my time with aquatic conservation/restoration.

 

Floated the mckenzie yesterday and caught our limit of "rainbow fish" as my daughter calls them.

My first Brown, White River below Bull Shoals dam. Plenty of Rainbows and a Cutthroat in the mix.

Sea Run Cutthroat were my favorite fish to target in Washington State.



And there are chum salmon... meh...

 

New Years Resolution: Catch ten citation Blue Catfish and earn my Lifetime Expert Angler award........

 

I would love to have a lake nearby with nice blues in it!
