Is a 2015 Limited 4runner with 155k miles on it - but well maintained for $12k a good price? Or is that paying too much for something with that many miles on it?

Also is this okay for driving cross country extremely long road trips ? My average mileage per years is about 45,000. I will be driving this thing a lot and for a long time... thoughts? My first runner... your thoughts.. should I be nervous with the mileage and is the price fair?

    thank you!!

The price seems good, provided the truck is in good shape with a clean title. I just did a quick search of 2014-2016 4runners within 200 miles of my location and only found 7 under $20K.

Check out Cargurus.com to compare prices in your area. Also, KBB is a good way to check market value.

Is this a dealer, or private sale?

That price seems super super low to me, almost to a scam price level. I'd be careful.

Just expect mileage between 17-19mpg. That's a lot of miles you'll be putting on it. They're super comfy for road trips, but they just use a lot of fuel

Post the sale link so we can evaluate it a bit more.

Price is very good to great, depending on location.

155k isn't a ton of miles but I'd prepare to replace some wear items sooner as it ages. Otherwise if well maintained the 4.0 V6 and 5spd auto are pretty bulletproof.

there is not link because a wealthy person local is selling it - I do no think he is in for making much money on this which is why the price is set far below what I am seeing. I'm relieved to hear that 155k is not much miles as I am wanting to keep this thing for as long as possible. I never had a runner but always wanted one....whats your advice on maintenance for this slightly aged one?

    thank you for your input

12k is way below what I seen recently and 155k on a 2015 isn’t bad nether, I assume a lot of highway miles! The guy is wealthy and the one that put these miles on her? I would say go for it, sure enough don’t wear the pinky glasses and take a close look but based on what your saying there should be a lot of life left, especially for that price.

Check history, maybe you got service records, If he doesn’t have it in papers maybe his shop can help out! If there is really no records I would do all liquids (engine and tranny oil, brake fluid, differential oil etc.) filters and the timing belt as well

sure that would raise the total cost of that purchase but it would be still a very good deal and mainly it would proof the runner for a lot of miles to come.
Like it was said before, engine and tranny are pretty much bulletproof and with love and care 400k miles should be possible

If you go for it because everything is fair incl. the title than provide us with pictures and a proper „member intro“

Ask if it’s been in any accidents. Also look at frame for rust.

New members can start a thread in the "New member introductions" section. Post a few words about yourself and a picture of your 4runner, if possible. We love 4runner pictures here!

    ...oh and before I forgot:

wrap that deal up and bring her home!

    Let’s lists the infos:

2015 Limited - not my favorite trim but definitely a good one and more luxurious then the others

155k Miles - looks like a lot of Highway miles - means less cold starts means less stress for engine, tranny and suspension

    1 owner - very good

    Clean title - great

Well maintained - even better with record

    $12k - don’t share the seller phone# here!!!

Sure post pics up in this same thread. We’re all here now. Price sounds great, assuming no underlying issues other than regular maintenance stuff.

What part of the country did it spend it’s life in?
