So we all know my passion for Toyota after 16 pages of wonderfulness :crapstorm: with our beloved 4Runner. Well my darling hubby is now trying to talk me into replacing my Rav4 4x4 V6 :toyota: with a freakin Nissan Xterra 4x4 V6, 6sp. My Rav is not dead, far from it. She hasn't even rolled over 200,000 yet. I have no idea what planet he is on right now....or thinks I might be on. :notsure:

Nissan, seriously? I feel like I don't even know him anymore. :(

Sounds like it's not the RAV4 that needs replacing...:ohsnap:

Xterras are kinda cool, but it's such a different vehicle than the Rav4. It would be like having 2 4runners, but one is a Nissan (ew).

The word that comes to my mind right now.......DIVORCE

My brother-in-law had one for two years until he finally got rid of it and bought a 4Runner. It had really crappy gas mileage and constantly stalled out when the weather was really warm.

Oh wowLast comment was hurtful... he probably likes the look of the Xterra.. Lots of people like the way they look, especially is you lift it with some nice AT tires.. you just can’t get that look or drive from the Rav...

He just likes the fact it has a 6 speed manual trans and the Rav is a friggin automatic, cause they were NEVER available in this country otherwise. I say just find another 4Runner cause God knows we have it all figured out by now and they can share parts if needed. He just thinks the Nissan will go down the road faster/better due to it having 6 speeds instead of just 5, like the Runner has :ballchain:. The Rav is a beast on the road:burnrubber:....but she is still only an automatic, so not much driving fun. :(

I've owned a couple of Nissan trucks.

They were good vehicles, but I'd rather have a Toyota.

The V6 Rav4 were only available for a few years. I was working at Toyota when they first came out and they were FAST! Pretty sure it'll smoke an Xterra.

One of my boys as a Rav and he loves it, no way would I replace it with a pathfinder. They are good looking rigs though.

Although I have heard the Xterra is a good offroad vehicle especially the Pro4X model, they do get really bad gas mileage much like our 2nd Gens. The Rav4 V6 4x4 is a rare breed and there is no way I would replace it with an Xterra.

That's the kicker, he is not an off roader :mudding:.......yet. He is a road racer. Let me get this city slicker out in the wild blue yonder and school him, then we will see what kind of vehicle he wishes to replace my beloved Rav4 with. (She's far from dead, however she does need a paint job, thanks to him taking a corner at 70mph+ in the rain and taking out someones full giant garbage can when he put 2 wheels off the road.)
I was away visiting my son, who's in the Navy, at the time.

What year xterra are we talking about....been a while, maybe '15 since they were sold new. I had three pre-'12 pathfinders over the xterra for the operable rear glass. The pathfinder redesign for '13 drove me to the 4runners.

I don't like the new Pathfinders...

All those crossovers are soulless blobs, and a Pathfinder doesn't look much different than a Chevy Traverse; I miss my 1996 Pathfinder!

So my dad bought a 1996 Pathfinder new because no stinkin' Toyota dealer within fifty miles of us would go below sticker on the T4R Limited he wanted; I found the Pathfinder by means of a magazine ad, told my dad he should look at it, and he did; He test drove the Pathfinder, liked it, and got one well below sticker. That Pathfinder still holds the record for the longest time my family has ever owned a vehicle; 13 years! Purchased new in May 1996 and traded for my Tacoma in September 2009; In 13 years, it needed an A/C recharge, an exhaust resonator, and front shocks. That Pathfinder ran and drove great, never broke down, and was like a snowmobile in the Northeast Blizzard of 2003! Crude compared to a 4Runner, but still a good vehicle!
