    New member,
Owner of a 1994 4Runner. V6 4x4 with 230K miles. I purchased it for a little over $2K. It was in an okay condition when purchased. It currently has common issues with '94. Heat sensitivity, start misfire, driver seat worn out.
My intentions with the 4Runner is to learn about it and work on it. Basically do all the repairing and restoring myself. I don't know much about mechanics and repairs. Very much a beginner lol. Any tips/advice is much appreciated.

    Thanks y'all

Congratulations, do a full coolant flush and replacement- Using Toyota long life red coolant only!! If that doesn’t work replace the radiator. Check yer hoses too. Maybe get a brand new starter. Do a reverse flow fuel injector cleaner and change the spark plugs, huge difference!!. Toyota original parts only. Wet Okole seat covers are the best for 4runners. Each of these things is worth the money..

Good Morning and Welcome! First of all I have to 2nd the motion for Wet Okole. I have a set on my 5th gen and have been very happy with them. Don't know anything about the 2nd gens, but here is a link for a nice lady and her husband that just restored one in the last year. They should be invaluable for a resource of parts and knowledge that you can browse through. @Fourtoad and her hubby are a great team and have been very determined through a lot of setbacks.
    Good Luck!

As far as learning how to fix things; you can find write-ups of a lot of common repairs here, and on other forums as well. Also, YouTube is your friend!

And another thing “heat sensitivity” .. Heat will destroy the heads and the gaskets on these engines. I would do everything I can to keep it cool, get an all copper radiator, do that coolant flush with red super long life Toyota brand. The other stuff can wait!!

@japhroe @MI-FL off roader thanks for the recommendation y'all! Don't see any single seat covers, might contact and ask. I plan on restoring the interior... seats, floor, dash. Previous owner didn't show enough love
