Hey guys, Fuaad here all the way from Kuwait.
Super excited soon to be part of the 4Runner Family.

Im currently driving my 2nd FJ Cruiser (1st was a 2009 and 2nd is a 2012) Madly in love with it.
Now that my family just got a tiny bit bigger (1st baby girl), I decided I need a proper 4door due to the constant need to access the car seat (Not really true but looking for any excuse to buy a 4Runner hehe)

I've been a long time huge fan of the 4Runner since it is the closest thing to a FJ Cruiser but with 4 normal doors. Unfortunately 4Runners aren't sold here in the middle east region since it is a sales competitor to the Land Cruiser Prado and Fortuner (But on the bright side they are still selling brand new FJ Cruisers).

Now I found out that in the UAE there are a couple of dealers who are importing some 4Runners from the US and Canada. At the moment there are a couple of 4Runners that caught my attention.

    Question:
    1) How can you differentiate between a TRD Off-Road and a TRD Off-Road Premium?
if the vehicle has the TRD interior (black leather and red stitching), sunroof, all the 4x4 goodies such as the Multi terrain select and so on, so what is it?

    2) is $33,000 (asking price) a good price for a 2019 brand new TRD-Offroad (or Premium not sure)?

gonna need as much support as possible (Lift, tires, frame chop, armor, lighting, etc) since here in Kuwait no one has any experience with the 4Runners.

Thank you for having me in this forum, wish everyone all the best and stay safe in these difficult times the whole world is going through.

Welcome. That's probably a good price. I bought a 2019 SR5 for about $31k so if yours is a TRD/Premium, I'd say that's a good deal. 4Runners don't depreciate nearly as quickly as a lot of other vehicles.

Welcome and all best of luck & enjoyment in your 4Runner quest. Here is some description of the premium trim:

“So why not just stick with the basic TRD Off-Road? Quite simply, the Premium's extras will make life just that much easier and comfier with its added heated power-adjustable seats, leatherette upholstery, proximity entry and push-button start (another new feature for 2020), an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and an upgraded eight-speaker sound system. They're worth the extra pennies in the car payment. The Premium only costs an extra $1,000 over the base TRD Off-Road despite those worthwhile extras.”

Would love to understand the features and qualities of the Land Cruiser Prado & the 4Tuner, which we have never seen around here, just on tv shows.

Thank you thats good to know

Hmmm... then i think this one has a different combination... cause it has the heated power adjustable seats in black leather but it doesn’t have a push button start. I believe it has been imported from Canada and i think they have different packages over there.

    Thanks
    Thanks
    Thanks Bob

    Welcome Fuaad!

Check the build date on the drivers side door jamb sticker too - it may be a 2019 model. 2020's in the US changed to the push button start and some other things. My '19 TRD Off Road Premium has the red stitching on the upholstery (Softex, not real leather), sunroof, overhead console, etc. I don't know the model year changes for 4Runners from Canada...

Sorry maybe i didn’t clarify properly, yes it is a 2019 model. So what i understand from you is that up until 2019 the premium doesn’t get a push start button correct? If so then the car would be a premium most probably

Nope, you're fine, Fuaad...I missed the 2019 reference. It does sound like a Premium to me.

    Yeah i think so too.

Now for the hardest part... gonna have to wait until life goes back to normal so they open normal boarder crossings between countries so that i can drive it from UAE to Kuwait.

    Lets see what happens.

    Thx again... stay safe

See if you can find a way to send some 2020 FJ's here in exchange for 4Runners!

I have no problem helping out anyone who is interested in purchasing a brand new FJ Cruiser. Im sure shipping to the US isn't much different than shipping from the US.

You can feel free to put the word out if you know someone is looking for an FJ, or further discuss privately.
