Hello everyone! I joined the site to learn as much as I can before I make my first 4 Runner purchase. I recently returned from overseas military duty and been saving for this for a while and want to get it right. Looking for a complete off-road look with all the bells. I want to understand the different models, best off-road tire options, and driving experience!

    Thanks, everyone, and be SAFE!

    Welcome to the forum!

They're all quite capable stock. The tires are the biggest limiting factor from the factory.

Welcome from KY! As others have said TRD ORP is your best bet unless you need a 3rd row or an exclusive TRD Pro color.

    Welcome!
If you can get the Pro for a couple of thousand under invoice, I'd choose the Pro over the ORP. The auto headlights and climate control are nice touches. If you don't plan on modding it for a while, the Pro is a much better driving truck off the lot than the ORP. If you do plan on modding, the Pro components are relatively easy to sell. With a great deal and the ability to sell the the Pro parts, depending on what you're paying for each, the Pro may be the way to go.

That's the key right there. Back in 2018, here in So Cal the cheapest Pro was $5-7K OVER MSRP. One dealer wanted +$15K and none of them would budge. I got my TRD ORP for $4K UNDER MSRP. Maybe not the best deal, but compared to a Pro it was a bargain.

They will always be listed for a premium over msrp, but it doesn't mean they always command the price. There are times during the year that are better than others. With any car, it's if they really want to move it. Each dealership is different and it's really up to the discretion of the dealership . When I bought my 2020 ORP a few months ago, the buying program I was going through had $2-3k below invoice on both the Pro and the ORP, but didn't have offers on a Venture because the package was new. During that time, the Pro on the lot was listed at $10k over msrp.
