    Hello all,

    Names Chris, Have a 2013 4runner SR5.....

I don't know how to put this except, I would like to take my 4runner and create a Performance driven version of it. I'm very curious in keeping it as close to factory as possible without going overboard. I would like it to be Toyotas answer to rivals such as The Cayenne Turbo,Jeep SRT,Jeep Trackhawk, BMW M6.... . The Supercharged 4.0 wont cut it. It needs to be in 600+hp territory to be competitive. So either a Tundra swap with a Supercharger/Turbo. No 2jz or ls swaps. I just want it to look like it came from Toyota.. Not a custom Truck...You get my drift. You guys might hate me for it, but I think if done cleanly it would be cool... Peace✌

Different strokes for different folks !

Some people like crawling, Some prefer to go fast. How we get there is irrelevant as long as we do it as a car community. I myself feel like I would love to see a wide body lowered 4runner pumping out 600+hp side in the 11s. But it's my vision and I plan to see it through. Thanks man

4.6 swap with a supercharger? Even that is probably only going to get you to 450-500 with a helluva tune. I think the 4.6 is only around 300hp or so stock.

    The Kanoo Supra is ridiculous!

I like your idea. I think a Tundra 5.7 with a supercharger is probably the easiest option. Maybe the AWD setup out of a Landcruiser?

You could also look into the 5.0 out of the IS-F, or the twin turbo 3.5 out of the new Lexus LS. These will probably both be very expensive, though. One good thing about the Lexus 3.5 is that it's in the same family as our 1GR, so it should fit in the truck nicely.

Suspension will be a challenge, with these being heavy body on frame dinosaurs.

Good luck with your project! Please start a build thread and keep us updated on your progress!

    And, Welcome to the forum!

It would be awesome and I’d love to follow to the build, however I’ll believe it when I see it. As much as I’d like watch this happen, I have more or less zero confidence that it’s going to come to fruition. I just don’t see it happening but I’d love to see you prove me wrong!

I’m not saying I disagree with you, but financially speaking, there are tons of other platforms out there better suited for this goal.
