Kinda impressed with t4r OE parts. My alternator just took a crap on me and I'm not really pissed about it. Quite the opposite really. I'm impressed that the alternator lasted 303k miles! I'm adding a stereo system and some other goodies. I'm going with a 160v high output alternator. Am I going to be getting enough extra juice by putting this one in? What do you guys think? Should I go with a higher one or should I be good with the 160v? Any thoughts on this!?

That’s the only thing I’m worried about going out on mine. My thoughts, keep it OE factory, AGM battery, and add a storage capacitor if you have to...

What accessories are you running which require “extra juice”?

Yeah, I just put a new battery in and I just wanted to go with the high output one. It seems like the easiest way to go. I'm adding a power distribution block so I can run this other stuff. I'm running 10gauge from the battery to the block then 16gauge out to the new accessories. I just wanted to make sure I will have enough power.

Dark Knight, I'm going with a 834watt 54in light bar on the top and some of those interior accent lights. An Alpine 7in touchscreen with Rockford Fosgate 6.5in speakers with new tweeters in front, same 6.5 in Fosgates in the rear doors and a Rockford Fosgate 1000w amp to a sub box with dual 10in Fosgate subs in it.

Fosgate? If you really want sound I would go with a MB Quart set with crossovers...

A little but well worth the extra cheese. I’m running 6, 5 1/4 and 4 tweeters with competition X overs in the Z28 for mids and highs...

Bridge the amp on the pair of subs. If it cuts off, overheats, it’s not 2 ohm stable...

I'm keeping the system simple as possible. I'm not worried about the hook up. My concern is with the alternator output.
