Just wait till she gets all buffed out in a month. Then she may blind us all.

Worked on the air horns again today. Got the fuse and the relay ran, now just have to run power to the switch.

Here's the horn install view from under the hood.

And installing the switch in the center consol where the coin holder once was.

Was a bit tricky because he wanted it to be key on operated and not constant on.

So I went to turn one of our good old 31" tires into our spare tires.....especially since our spare is original to the Runner...from 1991. Well I attach it to the chain and start cranking it into place. Had to bring it up at an angle to get it into place. Finally got it there and realize it's not gonna work since the tire will limit the pan hard rod from its full range of motion due to it's interference. :( Guess the old 91 original spare will have to suffice.

Might put the 31" in the storage bay of the bus, so if we need it out on the road, we still have it available.

What size is the original that the 31 wouldn't fit? I would most definitely replace the original tire. I can't imagine how it would work if you had a flat and had to use it.

Its like a 225 x 75R 15 and it actually did it's job of being a spare for us after the accident, while we waited on the new tires to arrive. I was nervous but it did the job and got us from the house to the shop and then to the paint shop and back about 20 miles. It's just a lot smaller than the 31s so the Runner sits funny. Would rather just use the old 31's we have but they don't fit underneath.

Did you ever find out the issue with the front end not disengaging?? Was it a vacuum actuator? My 94 runner will make a weird noise that sounds to be coming from the steering column like a slight grinding/ whining noise and the "4wd" light will flicker. Only happens at speeds over 55mph.

It's the vacuum valve no doubt in our case. He just unplugged it and it reset itself. We have tried to find a replacement valve but so far....have been unsuccessful. He said it would go in to $WD perfectly fine, but would not disengage. To get it to disengage, you just unplug it from the vacuum and it resets itself. Something to do with the internal spring. Will continue to look for a replacement one.

On the topic of tires......the new BFG KO2's are AMAZING!!!!!!!!! :bananadance:

Night and day difference. The other ones were in great shape but rode rough. These new ones are like gliding on a cloud. :burnrubber: Who knew? :notsure:

You need to make sure your front axle is not engaged. Driving around at 55+ MPH in 4H is BAD.

Mine was also the 225 originally. I was able to stuff a 30X9.5R15 in there and it fit but barely.

I'm almost positive its disengaging, I've used it in 4hi and can feel it go back into 2wd. Just dont know why the light flickers while driving and why it makes the noise.

Ok has anyone deleted the original air supply hose that has the sound deadener in it, just to put a straight hose in there for simplicity?

Put this in many years ago. Bought it from a guy from Yotatech who made them.

That's exactly what we are looking for. Wonder if we can still get one or if we have to make one?

You will probably have to make it yourself. It has been at least 15 years since I installed it. I can take some measurements tomorrow if you need it. Finding the piping with the right bend in it would be the hardest part.
