    Everything 4runner newbie here.

Was wondering if any of you running the Blisteins 5100s would be willing to share pics of your set up with the details on your settings (.85, 1.75, 2.5) and any advice you can offer? I'm very much a visual kind of guy so seeing how yours look can give me a better idea of what i want to put mine at once i order the 5100s. Much appreciated!

    16 pages discussing 5100s, with pics. Mostly at .85 & 1.75, though.

Thanks for that. I'm thinking i'm going to go .85 on the fronts with bilsteins on front and back but no lift in the rear for now.

Glad to help. I'm going the same route, although after reading up on reviews for Eibachs from several who have run both, I am going with the Eibach Pro Truck Sport shocks, with the .86 front setting.

I have been looking into the eibach stage 1 lift kit as well. Still undecided till payday but a lift will definitely be my first addition to my 4runner.

5591033E-E81F-4C87-B547-A8D66FBFDC28.jpg Most pictures don’t do the .85 settings justice in my honest opinion. Some people barely notice that setting but I really like it. It’s not going to be a huge difference in height but it looks amazing in person. Especially when you park next to a stock 4Runner. I have the Eibach’s which I believe provide the exact same amounts of lift but if not it’s going to be super close.

From what I've read, anyone going from stock to either Bilstein or Eibach has been totally satisfied.

It all depends on what your ultimate goal for your truck is. If you are going to be in the market for new tires and you want to upsize, I would go higher. However if you are content with 265/70R17s a small lift will probably look better. But really this is all personal preference. I would hate to see you go through the trouble of either paying someone again or using your labor again just to decide to go higher. I want to keep my truck moderately modified because it is my main family hauler. 4Runners with higher kits do look better than mine...but I am super stoked about mine.

Totally understand that. I appreciate your input as well. I don't totally mind the extra work if it comes to that but for now i am set on 265/70R17s. Looking at the falken wildpeak a/t for tires. But lift first!

Mine's ordered, waiting for ship confirmation and more insight into working around the KDSS.

I have a 2018 SR5P 4x4. How do I know if i have KDSS and how does that affect installation?

KDSS is only an option on the Off Road models, not SR5 or Limited.

    No problem.

From what I've read, the KDSS on mine is not a huge deal. Be thankful, though, you won't have to deal with it.

    Well said!

I disagree about higher lifts looking better, though. I think that with stock size tires, the stance you have is perfect!

I've seen pictures of full 3" lifts with stock tires, and I think it looks weird, especially with all season tires.

I'm very happy with how mine turned out, but part of me thinks the tires look too small now.o_O

If one's goals are a great ride, + leveling the truck, all while keeping stock sized tires, IMO Eibach Pro Truck Sport shocks or Bilstein 5100s are both excellent choices. Not to mention easier on the wallet.

When I get to looking at the Pro Truck lift and bigger tires, it's so tempting, but I have to scale it back to what I know will work for me. If, at a later date, I just can't live without more lift, I can just add the Eibach springs.

I think your truck looks great as is. I can't remember the last time I wore out a set of tires myself, I've changed sizes so much...

The old adage comes to mind...less is more. I have zero desire to lift any truck 3 inches after all the headaches I had with my 1st gen Tacoma. Hollyyy CRAP! What a PITA! Now in the 1 inch range I have had no issues what so ever on my old Taco and my current 4R. Even my 1st gen Taco was perfect at 1 inch but the itch got the best of me. The closer to stock the easier it is to mitigate problems.

It’s always tempting but I refuse to go down that road again. So now I stick with lighting and maintenance which I really enjoy doing.

Since this thread is about this, I thought I would compile some of the photos that inspired me to go with .85 fronts, -0- rear, in one place:

The guy who posted this first photo said "Just installed 5100s up front and 5160s in the rear with the front set at .85 and no rear lift. I can happily report that the thread consensus is accurate. This is the correct OEM+ leveling setup for the 5th gen 4Runner and all other answers are wrong. It sits perfectly level, and looks exactly how they should have spec’d them from the factory":

According to the person who posted those photos, yes, 265s. He said KO2s were up next, but didn't mention what size those would be.

BTW, there's only one photo (mentioned above it) that specifically has 275 tires. All the others AFAIK, are 265s.

My pleasure. It's just handy to have as many in one place as possible.

Now, if I could just get those leveling shocks, I could add my photos...

In my case, the shipping is nonexistent. Eibach is in California, so they've closed their doors until further notice, at the governor's declaration. The vendor I bought from has them drop shipped (not now) from Eibach. I thought they had stock on hand. Check before ordering.
