Pretty much as expected. The only real 'snag' was where the KDSS lines were closest to the main box, they were pretty snug against the frame. We got one of the front bolts in the top, forwardmost hole in the slider mounting plate, then pivoted the mounting plate up on that bolt to get the top edge of the plate up against the line bracket nearest the controller box. As I sort of wedged the bottom of the line bracket away from the frame, my buddy jacked up the slider with the hydraulic bottle jack. It slid right in behind that bracket until the holes lined up, voila! The rest was starting bolts and tightening them down. The other thing that took a bit was trimming the small KDSS skid. I started with 1/4" or so, held it up to check the fit, took a bit more off, repeat. The third time was perfect. Some Krylon black paint, reinstall, the driver's side was done.

The passenger side was a piece of cake, nine bolts, I believe. One thing I did on both sides was to get all the bolts mostly snug, then jack the slider up as far as it would go. I wanted as much ground clearance as possible.

I have to say, RSG knows what they are doing with the mounting plate. Every bolt hole matched up to a threaded hole in the frame. There was one threaded hole we used an oem bolt for, it was too close to the KDSS line and needed a shorter bolt.

Striped the wax, used liquid iron removing clay & sealed it with a hybrid wax.
Couldn't believe how much gunk was in the paint!

    Thanks!

And yes they are LED lights. I picked them over fluorescent. Liked the color and output better. Lifespan is supposed to be better as well.

Nothing will be stored in there. I have a wood working shed/shop with tools for wood working and house repairs, a storage conex for random junk, carport for the boat, and a barn/shed for kayaks, bikes and similar on my property as well to store stuff in. No vehicles, boats, or other toys will live in this garage. I dont want to feel crowded while i work.

I got a buddy with a larger detached garage, his is 40X50 but he has so much junk in it, mostly household crap and xmas decorations, you can barely get a vehicle in there to work on it. Damn sure cant fit 2. I could fit 4 vehicles in mine right now... Though i wouldnt want to work like that LOL. 1 at a time, loads of room. Much more comfortable, and less aggravation.

As far as paint and body, i prolly wont go through with that. Nowhere close offers training, and i would need another building for painting anyways. If i need paint or powder coating done i will just find someone local to do it for me most likely.

They look to be the first (or one of the first) to offer a compatible version for the 2020 to account for the Grill difference and the TSS.

    Which welder did you have?

I was looking at the weldpro 200, as a starter rig, but figured i should wait until i learn more about it all before i drop money on one. I dont want to limit myself to just MIG, just stick, just TIG... Id like a 3 in 1... But i will likely wait until i start the program and see what the instructor recommends, i dont want to drop 700-800 on a unit just to find out i should of got a different unit.... But id also like to practice/play around a bit before the program too... So... Who knows HAHA!!

I will put all that stuff thats not needed for the project im currently working on in one of the other buildings LOL, i need at least 10 feet in every direction to be able to work without going crazy :D

Whats the side wall height on yours? And the concrete specs?

I was iffy about that, some lifts wanted at least 12' height, and 6" thick concrete that was 4000psi..... But some said 4" thick at 3000psi.... I just went ahead and did the 6" thick at 4000psi, reinforced with rebar.... so i wasnt limited and didnt have to worry about it later... Though that upped the price on the slab considerably. Had i known the exact lift i would end up with i may of could of saved a bit of coin.

Sidewall height on mine is 12' foot, but about 16' in the center. I knew i was going to get SOME lift so i just made sure the height was good to begin with. That surprisingly only upped the building price a couple hundred bucks from 10-12 feet

Maybe an hour and 45 minutes from there, im in Levy county. What made you think Taylor?

Went a little far with the deleting.
    Again, congratulations on the building!
On to my point, I have a few year old Miller 220MVP. It can be used on a 110 if needed or 220 if needed the plugs change out. I may be wrong here as I am not a welder and bought it for general repairs on my equipment, however I do know that it is a multi use welder. I generally repair steel but it is capable of doing aluminum if I use a different gas & gun.
I had never welded before buying this machine. There is an auto set function you can use! You simply tell it the thickness of your item & it sets everything up.
I started welding my mower blades together and got the hang of it. I am nowhere close to perfect but I can lay dimes & every weld I have done is still holding years later.
Don't get a cheap welder! If some small part breaks you may be out for a long time. The guns have inner sleeves as you may know. With a off brand welder parts will be harder to source (if you can even find them).
    Rant & my $0.02 over.
    Hope it helps,
    Ryan

Very little. Maybe not as noticeable nose dive but that could be in my head. The stance is much better IMO.

My Mig that crapped out is a Millermatic 130. It is an older and "less expensive" unit. I am planning on fixing it, I just really needed it to help get a rusted broken bolt out of the fender on the '55. I am also wanting a multi-processor unit like the Miller 215 but that is $$$$. I would be interested in what your instructor suggests. I have always been in the school of thinking that purpose built units were better than multi but with modern processors etc. I dont know if that is still the case. (I am really interested in the Millermatic 215 if it is as good as youtube etc says) My brother has a small Lincoln ( I think it is a 3500 or something like that) I think he paid 300 for and it has been awesome. Low duty cycle but still a good unit.

My shop is 12' at the wall, 16' at the peak. 6" pour at 4000psi for the same reasons as you. I knew I was getting a lift so I set it up for a Rotary 10K etc.

I just finished plumbing in my foot pedal for the urinal haha

Blacked out badges, window deflectors, smoked 3rd brake light. I have a Borla muffler on order as well as some color matched engine cover stickers. I'll be painting the stock wheels soon as well. Falken tires in the fall as well.
After it sat without being started for almost 2 weeks, I had to push it out of my driveway and jump start it. No fun.

After rereading this I misspoke. The welder I have is the Miller 211 MVP. I am heading to my shop in a bit. I will take a pic of what it can do.

Yeah...:pout: BUT, at the same time, I have stuff in case we need it while doing lifts etc like ECGS Bushings, suspension bolts, OME springs and pretty much 10 of ANY small block chevy part. I just need an outbuilding to store the "extras" haha! No joke, I think I have 30 different sbc chevy pulleys because you never know which one you will need and that has saved me so many times it is scary. Not pictured are 6 sbc's, 3 BBC's and one Datsun 1.6L. I have a problem. (also, I think I just may have traded some stuff for a pop-up paint booth :help:

    Thanks!
    https://trailstandardoffroad.com/

There’s 3 choices for lettering. Toyota, 4runner, or Trail. It adheres to the grille via 3m double sided tape. Presuming you could obtain your own lettering of choice to apply so long as center it yourself.

I think it would look great if it didn't say anything on the grille really...

The word 4runner looks pretty good on it, but I think it would be sweet without it.

There’s an option on that website to have the grille with no letters.

So I had this system rigged up to hoist it to the roof of my garage (as my friend has been renting a room from me and is taking up a lot of space in my garage- plus I have a tiny garage).. long story short.. finally got it hoisted up to the ceiling and I’m trying to work out (in my head) a better system to load/unload it... including making protective “caps” by cutting slots along a PVC pipe and putting them over the rails of my gobi so I can slide the RTT down the length of my rack without scratching it to high hell, then after I could lift each side one at a time and remove the caps...and also fabbing up a 2x6 detachable frame that will allow me and a buddy to lift the RTT straight up and walking it directly over the 4Runner instead of having to extend our arms awkwardly to the side and overextend our shoulders lugging around that beast .. anybody built any kind of frame to lift one of these things in place? I have a good idea in my head and will definitely post what I come up with but was wondering if anyone’s already created something similar? 9CB95554-DDD3-4B8B-8D5B-6C30AEFA5261.jpg

I actually hoist ours up and down from the ceiling using short tow/ratchet straps around the tent so only something soft could hit the car, unfortunately I have already done some damage to ours with the bolts that hang from the bottom of the mounting points.

Yeah I wish I had the ceiling space to be able to lower down directly onto the 4runner .. sucks you damaged your ride though. I scratched up the top of my racks a little but nothing a little touch up paint shouldn’t be able to fix ... now if only I could order the Gobi touch up paint without having for a Gobi rep to call me back to confirm my touch up paint order (for whatever reason) smh
