Slider did arrive today, with just a bit of 'too much travel' wear & tear. The box had a hole in the end, and one side of the main tube got some of the powder coat scraped off on a small area, as the foam wrap also had a hole. I'm not really concerned, I touched up a Shrockworks bumper before with very similar powder coat, using Rustoleum black spray bedliner, I believe, and you couldn't really tell. The rest of the packaging was more than up to the trip.
    IMG_0331[1].jpg IMG_0333[1].jpg

I did let Jason know if they put some type of plastic cap over the ends of the slider main tube, then wrap them in the foam tape, this wouldn't be likely to happen if the box got a hole in it. Of course, UPS can destroy anything, given enough time and lack of care...

One of mine was the same way, but not that deep into the powder coat. Good to see you got it, install should go well.

I'm not supposed to lift more than 30 lbs. for the next week or so, but I'm itching to get these on the truck. I plan to use a couple of hydraulic floor jacks to get this into position, then get a couple of bolts started on each end. Once that is done, the rest is positioning and bolting up, with the side job of notching the KDSS skid plate corner. Doesn't sound too hard. I wish my son was around, he loved this stuff. He could remove and replace a car engine in a day. :militarypress:

If you live in Florida you can hit up Timbos Customs. He makes full weld on sliders and the price includes install. I just ordered some no kickout sliders from him. They are made to order and he is just one guy doing it at his home, so there is a bit of a wait, 6-8 weeks... But the price and quality makes it worth the wait to me....

He also did my BMC, trimmed my bumper, and did the fender liner mod for me to fit 33s a while back, good guy.

I’m about 11 hrs. from you, or i would come and give you a hand, maybe someone close could help you out. You definitely do not want to bust a nut trying to do it yourself, that just puts you farther behind.

I appreciate that, thanks! I'm really not in that big of a hurry, to tell you the truth - I've been enjoying the look with no steps, it gives the 4Runner a more aggressive stance just not having those Predator steps on. The wife just has a bit of a climb to get in now, until I get these on. I'm going to see if any of the guys I've helped in the past have some time...

Without knowing the fine points of comparison between the various brands- the RSG seem sweet, tons of options, not CRAZY priced and seems like no need to remove gas tank or anything more than just bolt it on (assuming no KDSS).

Not having installed these yet, but after watching several install videos, and reading up on every install post I could find, it does seem very doable, even for someone who's never done it before. With absolutely no gas tank drop, using only existing threaded frame holes, and working with either KDSS or not, are why, along with sensible pricing, I went with RSG. KDSS only adds removing and reinstalling a few bracket bolts, with one small skid plate to remove, slightly modify, and reinstall.

What? Nobody likes full weld on? :poking:

If you decide you want to remove them later you can always sit under there with a cutoff wheel or angle grinder

I picked these because they are made by a local Toyota enthusiast, price is installed, and they are cheaper than any bolt ons i can order online once you calculate shipping and all. But i really dont have preference of bolt on VS weld on.... For my uses, bolt on would be plenty strong enough... But weld on will be sweet too. Dont have to worry about the bolts loosening or the nuts rusting on....

I was all about bolt-ons because I wanted to be able to remove them if needed. In the future, I wouldn't hesitate to go for weld-ons.

My RSG sliders arrived in perfect condition. The powder coating was flawless. I promptly went out and scratched them up on rocks.

Sure! Some from the side would be nice. Mine are actually sitting out in my workshop waiting for it to stop raining to install them. When I do, I'll post some comparison pics.

I found a buddy who I sold a Jeep to years ago, and together we have worked on it from time to time. He is going to help me install the sliders tomorrow. Stay tuned for an update and some photos...

I would go with RSG again in a minute. Jason is excellent to work with, and the fit, installation, and finish of the sliders was beyond my expectations. I'm glad I didn't go with the oem running boards, as I gained about 2.5" of ground clearance with the flat sliders over those.

Gary those look great, and I’m considering a pair myself. However, my knees aren’t what they used to be and I will be relying on whatever sliders I choose to be a step as well. How far the step protrudes from the side of the vehicle will affect my decision.

Could you please take a measurement and tell me how far the slider protrudes from the sill? I’m attaching a photo for reference. I’m not asking you to take a photo. A measurement would be all I need. Thanks in advance.

I love my C4 Trail sliders although I screwed myself on the passenger side by snapping a screw on the step plate, then breaking an extractor off within said broken screw and now being stuck with how to fix this without buying a new passenger side slider. lol

No biggie to post a photo. Mine are the 0° with the grip top plate. Measurement from the same spot as in your photo:

Yeah, I noticed that extra inch also. Most likely due to the 20° angle on the one you posted with the measurement...

My wife uses that as a step every time she gets in, and I do on occasion also. It makes a great spot to help access the roof also.

LFD .185 wall, can practically hang the truck from these things. Went with the flat profile with fill plates and bumpouts, keeps the rear end away from the trees and large rocks.
