Upgraded the t4r quality rating-any thoughts from any new 2020 owners?

To me it's a head scratcher that there are any reasonably accurate quality ratings on MY 2020 vehicles. There's not enough data collected to know the reliability of the specific year, and most owners have so little experience they can't say anything useful (either positive or negative.) And outside of the few revisions here and there, the 4R is largely unchanged for 11 model years.

It’s surprising they upgraded the rates on any Toyota truck. Watch the videos on the 2nd gen Tacoma and the previous gen Tundra. And they will have an uneducated buyer believing they are the two worst pickups in the history of mankind. Which clearly they aren’t...

Consumer reports sucks. A few years ago, they called the Honda Ridgeline the best midsize truck, even though THEY said that it's not up to the task of towing or off-roading. What the hell are we buying a truck for??

Exactly! And how can you compare and classify it as a truck if it’s incapable of such things...

Hey, settle down! Ridgeline is/was a great midsize truck (although a couple of years ago I think there were only 2 midsize trucks, so...) but it does have limitations. I agree on the C/R bit.

Consumer Reports caters to those who are 55+ looking to purchase their next mid/full size sedan. I don't know why anybody uses them as a metric for which products to buy.

Yes half your statement is correct “Ridgeline is/was a great”. But not truck...it’s a heavy duty car...a Highlander with a bed...

The mini van based Ridgeline may be good for some who need to pick up a few bags of mulch from the Depot, but watch the TFL video where they had to abandon the vehicle on a forest service road going up a mountain due to the trans over heating. NO THANKS!

Some review of the vehicle after 10:30. Then skip to 15:00 to see the trans issue. This vehicle is not a truck.

I agree that it is a good vehicle. It's probably a better all around vehicle than the other midsize trucks for 90% of what people use it for. But, if it's lacking in the exact areas that qualify it as a "Truck", it isn't really the best truck.

Just my opinion. I've pretty much heard only good things about them.

All you Ridgeline haters* can suck it! Actually it's a great truck, for what it is, and compares very well to a 2WD Tacoma. For the record, the Ridgeline offers 95% of what 95% of truck drivers need/do, but you can't add oversized tires and you can't hang rubber testicles on the hitch.

*1G Ridgeline. The 2G Ridgeline looks like the Odyssey's bastard child.

My best defense is it's a great "city truck." It tows about as well as the Tacoma or 4R, and it carries weight in the bed pretty well. The bed/trunk/tailgate are extremely useful, and I enjoyed mine, although I knew if I bought another truck I'd get back into a Tacoma (which I had before I bought the Ridgeline).

No hate, it’s a good vehicle. Look at it like this...it’s like calling Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and Jerry Nadler people of honor and value when it essence they are diabolical...:) Sorry I had to get that zinger in there...

I was amused the first time I saw them. But, now I usually associate them with lifted full size, rollin' coal, tobacco chewing, smokestack through the bed types:D

This guy must be trolling all the truck driving Prius haters.

You would have to get stiffer springs on the Ridgeline if you wanted to run truck nutz on it. The struggle is real!

I liked the look of the old ridgeline a lot better. Except for that slope behind the rear window to the bed. That shit bugged me. Now that they got rid of that slope, the screwed up the rest of the "truck." Go figure.

I had a 2017 AWD Ridgeline, no way was I taking it anywhere off road. It is almost 20" longer and 3" wider than a 4Runner. It was a great payment mid-size "pick-up". I had mine set-up for highway driving (150 mile a day commute) with 255/55R-19 MICHELIN PREMIER LTX XL tires and light weight Flow-One wheels. Since Honda uses real torque vectoring the truck is really fun to drive and toss into turns ... for a pick-up. Honda's maintenance schedule is "interesting?" ... Rear differential fluid (Change) every 15,000 miles, Transfer case fluid (Change) every 45,000 miles, Transmission fluid (Change) every 45,000 miles, Brake fluid (Flush/replace) every 45,000 miles and Coolant (Flush/replace) every 60,000 miles.
