    Hi.

    old dude living in Florida

I want to use my vehicle for overlanding. I want to be able to haul kayaks and bikes with me. I’ll end up driving on local beaches more than mountain trails.

not sure if I want to get an overlanding trailer or stick with just the vehicle. I’ll be traveling solo or occasionally with one or two other people.

I don’t want to make my 4Runner worse for highway travel or daily driving

function over esthetics but not butt-ugly

mods in order of priority as I see them

    Rack
    Rock sliders.
lift and tires. New wheels or stick with stock?
    Bumpers and winch?
Lights - upgrades from OEM and accessory
    Supercharger?

As mentioned, there are some build threads and a ton of other informative threads to get ideas from.

The rack and tires are probably the first things I would do.

The off-road wheels are fine, but I replaced mine mostly because I liked the look of the pro-comps.

Here's what I built for overlanding or camping. It's perfect for a short guy who is not claustrophobic:D.

Lots of storage underneath, and 4" wide on top. It works for me.

There is a thread somewhere with other people's designs. Lots of good ideas, depending on your use.
