Driving lights

Im going to be spending lots of time on the road between Houston and AZ and NM.
I enjoy driving at night and there are long stretches of both I-10 and I-40 where there is little traffic.
And recommendations on legal to semi-legal external driving lights for the 3rd gen and suggestions for bumper mounting locations.

I'd run an aftermarket driving light. There are plenty of aftermarket projector HID/LED lights on the market. I put an LED bulb in my stock housing. It helps. I've also wired in a bumper mounted LED light bar for the longer stretches of dark roads.

 

I have led pod lights mounted in the factory fog light locations and love them!

If you're still in the market, I can't recommend the Diode Dynamics SS3 lights enough. They are compact but their optics pack one hell of a punch. The driving patterns are SAE J581 compliant, meaning they are street legal to run as auxiliary high beams.
