Taillight question

    From top to bottom, turn signal/hazard, brake light, reverse light, DOT required red rear reflector.

    The red reflectors you're referring to don't illuminate, rather they are a DOT requirement to have a certain amount of red reflector on the rear of the vehicle. If memory serves me, its 2 square inches per side.

    Fun fact, look at some vehicles that don't have red reflectors on the tail lights, they will have red reflectors some where on the rear for DOT compliance.

    Thank you PVT Pablo. As you can see in the picture I replaced the halogen reverse lights with LEDs. I had my wife test all the lights for me while I stand in the back. Then I noticed the bottom reflectors weren't lighting up. I thought I screwed up something.
    Thanks for that info on DOT Red Reflectors I never knew that. Funny you had me look at my wife's Prius V and yup the Red Reflector is on the bumper just by itself.
