Tacoma , 4runner and Lexus all 2019. ALL have a night vision darkness version to the Nav, screen. All look extremely dark. You can make out what it shows but with difficultly. My wife and daughter say the same thing. If you keep it on daylight mode it is extremely bright. Anyone agree? Not on me going blind.:deadhorse:

Dunno, I dim mine down and have no issues. It's way to bright without dimming

Either to dark or to bright. I wish it could be dimmed. If you found a feature to DIM the Nav, screen please tell me. My options show daylight mode or night
    mode.

I sometimes shut the screen off while driving at night. I never bothered to look for a brightness setting. I might have to look into that.

We use tinted screen protectors on our GPS screens on our plow trucks at work. Makes it a lot easier on your eyes at night.

What do you do if you're Navigating on a trip at night? Going into Atlanta at night is a challenge. Construction everywhere, Everyone is flying.

Hmmmm... I don't know. I think it dims when you dim the dash lights? Not sure, though.

I usually use Google maps for navigating so it doesn't affect me. But, it would be nice to have an easy adjustment.

You can dim or brighten both the day and night modes in settings.

you can have day mode really dim and night mode really bright if you want. Or vice versa.

Manual shows how to chose bright OR dim on nav screen. How do you DIM or Brighten?

Not sure how to explain. This is how I adjust only the navigation screen. I have no clue what will happen during the day...
    I hope it helps!

I think you adjust the day mode brightness/contrast with headlights off. Then turn on the headlights (so the screen dims) and do the same adjustment again and set it where you want it.

Those Atlanta drivers are ridiculous. Everytime I go through there I have learned to just tune them out and stay in my lane. Let them drive like it's the Talladega 500 and no restrictor plates.

    I resemble that remark.

On a random note I just realized Xenon Depot is less than a mile from where I live

I have a 2019 ORP. The nav screen dims with the dimmer control (on the dash to left of the steering wheel and down a little). One thing I discovered, when I had my lights on but it wasn’t dark outside (like driving in the rain), the dash lights and Entune were almost too dim to see even with the dimmer all the way up. For kicks and giggles I pushed the dimmer a little further in the on direction and it clicked into a detente and all the dash and Entune lights popped on to full brightness (the same brightness as if the the headlights were off). I can make things the right brightness for all conditions now.

Your nav screen isn’t affected by that little dial to the left of the steering wheel. You set the brightness independently in settings.

I’ve never tinkered with the newfangled technology and settings (hence my handle ‘4x Old Guy’), but my dash lights and Nav dim with the dimmer. Whatever was set at the factory works just fine.

You think it dims with the dimmer wheel (so did I).... but I’m pretty sure it doesn’t.

You can test this day or night. Spin the dimming wheel tomorrow with the headlights off. Dashboard lights will change, nav screen will not. Same when headlights are on.

Ok. I checked it again this morning. You are correct in that the dimmers does not dim the nav. However, rolling the dimmer to the full on detent brings the dash lights to full brightness and switches the nav to “headlights on” mode (light colored roads and text on dark background) to “headlights off” mode (dark colored roads and text on light background) which appears brighter even though the nav doesn’t actually dim.

You can always shut the screen off in settings. When you change stations or volume it appears to let you know then goes off again.
As far as dim at night? Have not looked into it but mine must be set low. Light bothers my eyes and I have zero issues in the runner

You can dim the screen way down in settings.
