    Hey All,
I've got a lead on a 15' 4 Runner SR5 (Not sure if its premium or just sport). Trucks got 85k on it and I can get it for around 20k BUT its got some accidents on the history. It seems like a good price even with the history and everything has been fully repaired with lifetime warranties. One was a front end collision (apron, bumper, grill, radiator, condenser) the other was minor and just needed a quarter panel painted and light replaced.
This ones got all the bells and whistles on it- heated seats, navi, bluetooth, sunroof, leather, etc...
I've never owned a 4 runner but have always wanted one. Is this a good deal in your opinions? Closest thing i can find in my area (with damage on the history report) is over $24k.
I know these things hold their value very well but will the damage report have a huge impact on resale value?

    Thanks for any help.

Damage report will destroy you if you go to trade it in. Private seller may not care so much (as you may not when you buy it), but a dealer will use any excuse to fuck you in the heinie hole. If it's gonna be a long term / lifetime purchase then make it happen.

Good point. I should have mentioned that I did a trade in estimate through one of the major companies who offer to buy your car (carmax, autonation, kbb, etc..) and with the history they quoted it at $21,500 cash value if I were to take it to them right now.

I have owned a few vehicles that have been involved in crashes and in my opinion I wouldn't do it. The first and most important reason being that you as the owner can never really know the quality of the repair work and parts installed. Are they all OEM Toyota parts, was the paint properly applied to the body panels, an so on. Now if it was just a body panel replacement I would maybe say okay but it seems like the hit was hard enough to damage the radiator which leads me to believe it was a fairly hard hit. I personally would rather save up a few more bucks and buy a used one that was not in an accident. To spend 20k (which is a decent amount of money) and still have the higher likelyhood of potential headaches isn't worth it but it does sound like a nice truck...
