That looks great. How much cutting/trimming is required?

 

Requires some, the wings and the center section is only the front valance. So you keep all of the grill.

 

With most things you will mount, you can simply lift the notched side of the crossbars to install your hardware. With a RTT that is a little more difficult, so you have two other options. You can use RTT mounting brackets (there are lots of options) that raise the tent up from the crossbars. You can also do what I did quickly before a long trip and remove the factory rails with the crossbars attached, mount that to the tent and then place it back on the roof.

 

I'm sorry, I don't have a good photo close up. I have a full rack installed now so I can't take more for you.
The factory rails don't add much weight to the tent. I'd recommend two people to lift a tent on anyway.

We have had someone who made it work with a third row. You can add washers or some type of spacers to move the panel further out. It will likely still rest against the seat belt housing area so if you are worried about it you could put something (like foam tape) on the back of the panel in that area to protect the interior.

 

Jen, you might try rubber washers, they come in different thickness. Just a thought.

The steel bumper with tube, weighs about 115lbs. The aluminum version would weigh about 57.

Might be fine with aluminum, but I'd recommend it anyway.

 

Sorry, I didn't see the second part of the post. Yes, the stock front bumper plastic needs to be cut. The center grill pieces do not!

No hurry. Can only buy so many expensive car mods per year and this year is roof rack year.

 

Just curious if there will be an option for no bull bar and/or medium height version for the front bumper (just a but to high for my liking). Not to mention, will it affect 4Runner owners with KDSS?

 

Yes! It will be available with or without the tube work. KDSS will not impact the bumper in any way.

I'm a huge fan of the low-profile Blitz winch bumper, myself. I've never seen a better looking winch bumper on any vehicle. If you find it in your heart to put together a high-clearance kit for that bumper similar to what is available with a couple of your competitors, I couldn't imagine putting any other products on my vehicle!

Glad to hear that these puppies are ready for sale. I have forgotten to ask, but I have a ladder and wondering if a swing door would work if I have one? seems like the end is aligned to the edge of the stock bumper. Thanks!!!

 

It most likely won't work with a driver-side swingout. It would work fine with just a passenger-side. We also plan to make a carrier mounted ladder for those that want both!

Yes, it is. It's mounted with our camera/license plate relocation kit. You will remove the camera, run the wiring from the headliner down through the interior panel and up the carrier. We should have the install video filmed by the end of the week!

There are definitely a few cool places in Nebraska to visit. They are all in western Nebraska and that is 4-6 hrs away!
