its not even a worthy case. I can express more later but its a day or two criminal trial. Not worthy of wasting peoples time like it has. At this point im confused as to what exactly is being proven by this case.

who would have thought discussing wedding shit would start such an uproar within my immediate family. I've never seen them to be this negative and not understanding.

its not too much. its just my parents being annoying. Keep telling me "in ten years all youll remember is who was there" They are constantly shitting on any of the ideas i have and/or locations because they ask how much it is and i tell them. They went to elope in Vegas, sorry im not going to go elope.

I dont even think what im planning is that unreasonable. Were planning to rent a lake house, have the wedding on the property and have the ceremony by the water and then have the reception at the house and lawn. Itll combine both, be under 5k total with food/beer. How hard is that to comprehend?

our thoughts are, pay what it costs keep it budgeted so we can spend the rest the money on a house. Something that isnt over in a day. Originally we were over 20k for a wedding and i finally had to say no.

Under $5k with all that is super cheap. If you can pull that off you'll be doing well.

I've attended weddings that cross the spectrum. I've participated in the wedding party of 8 in the last 10 years, 4 of those I was Best Man. The absolute best ones were chill events in simple settings. One was at Loon Mountain NH, friggin BLAST!!

Moral of the story, make it about enjoying time with friends & family, not about grandstanding. Parents will resist anything they did not come up with. After all, if they didn't come up with it then it's a bad idea...lol

Although, marriage is fast becoming an outdated practice...and I understand why the older I get. But that's for another thread.

Sounds cheap to me as well.

Isn't the rule for a ring 2 month's salary? yikes.

I love my job and the freedoms I get but it's easier to complain. I always entertain jobs on the side. Never know

$15 a day by the court.

I also am salary so I'm still getting my normal pay. But i have now missed out on over $300,000 of bids that I worked on and could not turn in.
