Thanks! But I have to say, plastidip will not be good for this. I went the plastidip route for my badges, and they turned out passable, but i would say go my route for the valence. Seriously it was so easy to spray once I had it all set up. Plastidip is suuuper clumpy and the spray is spotty, no way it would have worked for this. Get the Rusto pro it just sprays out so much better and evenly, it's night and day from Plastidip. Truuust me. But make sure to get the giant pro bottle like in my pic. I did my research so you don't have to! Also while you're at home Depot get the plastic drop clothes like I did, they are $1.50 each. Scratch the surface of the valence with some sand paper or the rough side of a sponge beforehand, then wash it down, make sure it's super clean. Let it dry then take your time masking it (most important part) and you won't regret it!

Also after you've done 4 coats with 20 minutes in between, and let it dry for an hour, but before you pull off the tape, take a razor or exacto and trace the edge where you want the paint to peel away, otherwise when you pull off the tape it will snag and mess up your edge and possibly run the whole thing. Go slow.

No, this particular one is just for me

It might be a possibility in the future though.

Ya. I did a lot of “research” and decided Pd was the way to go. I have the paint already. If I can do it soon we could do a comparison over time. Everything gets better and that liner looks great.

Haha "alright", go for it! Hope it looks better than mine, but at least take me up on the plastic drop clothes!

Plastidip can look & perform great if applied correctly...
I have many hours & projects with it.
YouTube Dipyourcar or DYC & learn.
    Many light coats...
    No hate. Just stating.
Best of luck to you both!

For sure, and thanks to everyone here, I never would have thought you could do this stuff yourself if it weren't for the awesome info on all these forums!

    Please, do expand...
I know it has its uses & limits.
But sucks; I don't think that is true or fair.
It is owned by permatex. Pretty sure they know what they are doing...
It is not linex or bed liner.
It is a pealable & non to semi permanent solution.

Sorry brother, I'm being facetious. IMO, if you are not going to do it permanently, why do it? Also, a lot of people in our world go for image...it's all about how things look. Understand? Agreed.
    1. Plastidip is as permanent or temporary. If it is for badges; I've had them last years (until the vehicle was sold).
This is also good to try & test color combinations before committing to a permanent option.
    2. It is all about "personal" image, not bling (with our crowd). Therefore plastidip is perfect for finding your accent color or deciding weather to remove the badges.
Plastidip will always hold a place on our shelf as we got the turbine sprayer & the lot.
It is great stuff when used right.
I know you were rattling me back there! It is all good.
I know the abilities of that product & given the chance I could reproduce a niteshade edition for pennies of MSRP...:benchpress:

Check out Rust-Oleum peel coat. I've used it and Plasti-Dip both and I like it better. It's easier to spray but is thinner. I used it on the wheels on my excursion about 2 years ago and it has held up fine.

From the videos you have to take off the bumper to get the valence off.

I think it would. I use the self service car wash regularly to wash my rig and power wash the wheels and it has held up fine.

Plastidip will hold up to a car wash if done correctly. Done it tons of times.
Not a direct hit from a pressure washer. It is to strong and will strip or tear it. Done that also.
I have plastidipped a lot of things...
Sorry I missed the earlier post. Yesterday was crazy.
My pressure washer is commercial grade & very strong.

I guess I used the term "pressure washer" loosely. The self serve car wash I use definately has more pressure than any hose or nozzle I could get at home but not the pressure of an actual pressure washer. I agree I wouldn't trust it to hold up to an actual pressure washer. Definitely trust it through the car wash though.

I bought a Kit from HIDKitPros that was cheaper ($71.90 with a coupon code on their site) and the blades on the LED's were just a little to big, I compared them side by side for light quality/brightness and the difference was minimal. The PrecisionLED was $120 ish. If you are willing to mess with it a bit, the HIDKitPros kit would be a good option as well. The Dome and the Rear hatch lights with the HIDkitPros are directional LED's and the orientation in the socket matters. The directional LED's in the less expensive kit are in fact a little bit brighter. Both are a good option, I decided on the PrecisionLED kit for our vehicle because of the fitment on the spade bulbs. I am selling the other kit to a co-worker and installing them on our lunch break. I will say, Both are excellent kits and would serve anyone well. I need the extra light when we are camping, especially in the rear hatch area for getting gear in and out.
Note: I also noticed with the HIDKitPros rear hatch lights, if you leave the switch on "door" and close it, they glow a tiny bit. I have seen that mentioned before in forums and I had the same experience. Probably not an issue but it is something to be aware of. I am sure the clock takes more draw on the battery but it is still worth mentioning.

As of July 24 I've had my 4Runner for a year. This is an odometer pic from that day. I bought the car with 93,600 miles.

So, some may like it..others may not...and that’s cool but I absolutely think it looks awesome and should have come from the factory this way! Swapped my Limited flat hood with a fellow member for his scoop!! A special shout out to Adamonsterr for making the deal happen! Awesome guy and a straight shooter..can’t go wrong dealing with him. I really have been lucky on this forum. I found great guys to trade me for their sliding tray and now for a Trail hood.
